Wii should include component cables, never mind having to buy them seperately. Wii' s strength is its price point and if you have to buy all these fucking neccessities with it, people are going to turn away from the little console that could.

Even if you don' t have a HD TV, if its relatively modern you can still get 480p with component. 480p is pretty lame compared to 720p but 480i simply looks like shit, I' ll never play another videogame in 480i.

yea they really should release a component cable, at least as an option to pre-order. Thing is I' ve pre-ordered a Wii, and at the moment I' ve got nowhere to plug it in! Need to downgrade my setup! :P

What annoyed me more about pre-ordering was that I wanted a second controller, and I had to buy the nunchuck and the remote separately, costing me around £45 extra! The games aren' t cheap either, so altogether I' m still spending almost ' 360 levels' of cash.

It' s definitely not priced at a mainstream level imo, but that will definitely change as they bring the price down.

You can still use composit cables with your HD TV. Right where your Component cabels go, except that instead of having three plugs for video you only have one.

Yeah but thats not the cables, its the resolution. 480i looks like shit on a HD TV, especially when you' re used to 480p+.

And you can only get 480p through component so using Wii' s composite cables on a HDTV would result in an awful picture. They really should be shipping them with the console. They did this with the Gamecube too which i never understood.

Yeah, that' s dissapointing. You' d think that they' d give you everything you' d need for your setup. They were pushing the low price point pretty hard, but if you have to pay the extra 30-40 whatever, you' re getting up into the 360-core range there.

That' s pathetic. 480i through component is a huge inprovement over composite at the same resolution, just like RGB scart over composite.

Just why they' d do this is beyond me, on a good SD CRT 480i still looks great in RGB.
