This is really just for old school Gamerweb members as you' re probably the only guys here who know the history of Gamerweb. So I just wanted to pass the info along.

IMO, for a site that doesn' t exist anymore, and a legion of forum-goers that have long since disbanded, Gamerweb has gotten way too much attention.... and I' m not helping any.

Well, anybody that knew Adam' s plan knew that as soon as Kikizo was made, GW was only going to stick around for so long. Personally, I' ll always remember the site with a fondness. It' s where I started with game reviews, and I made a lot of friends in the forums; many of whom I still stay in contact with.

Gamerweb, as a site, didn' t impress me that much. BUT... as a forum and community, it really shone. R.I.P Gamerweb. Okay, now I' m done mourning, lets post on Kikizo and play some games.

SegaWeb got me into posting in Internet Bulletin Boards. I can still remember going on the site through my Dreamcast Christmas afternoon 1999 to see the pics of the intro to Shenmue. It' s a shame that GW is nothing but a shell.

I' ve been reading Doree' s stuff since Segaweb, but when Gamersweb descended into a period of uncertainty, it was pretty plain to see it was over.

Whilst the TV show was relatively entertaining, you can' t do justice to the games industry broadcasting from a broom cupboard with a blue back-wall. It became cringeworthy at the point where the presenters started bringing stuff in from home. One guy brought his " manga" in, which frankly smacked of an effort to fill up time.

Still, it was nevertheless a brave venture. I wasnt exactly enamoured with the pre-pubescent, zealous fan-following they' d picked up (I mean, who' d want to be lumped in with that crowd?) nor the channel they were broadcasting on, but their intentions were good, which when you think about all the crap we have to deal with as the consumer, is something to admire.

The current forums there are complete rubbish. Nothing like what they used to be. It is amusing to drop in every now and then to see what everyone is arguing about this week.
