TimeShift actually looks ok... - Apr 17, 2007 00:37
After the god awful demo in January and the game being sent back to the drawing board, i figured it' d wither and die. Instead it' s resurfaced in some annoyingly grainy screenshots and actually looks pretty damn good...

But meh, another FPS...

I feel the same. Thankfully some developers are trying to give something new. I was givien a copy a stalker for PC and have been pleasantly suprized how great it is.

FPS games are becoming so plentiful and short that I can' t justify spending a full $60 to purchase the majority of them. With so many great looking games coming out (FPS and otherwise), it looks like the usual humdrum FPS titles are going to get lost in the fray.

Don' t get me wrong, i love the genre, but it' s become stagnant recently. I hope BioShock lives up to my expectations. Deus Ex: Invisible War didn' t and that at one time showed an amazing amount of promise.

I have STALKER but i haven' t installed it yet. Should i check it out? Or would i be better off with Dark Messiah? I own both.

I gained hope for this game ever since they changed developers. I won' t buy this game but I can see myself renting it for a week or so.

Play Stalker!! Arg... Although Dark Messiah is fun also. I haven' t been into a game as much as I have with Stalker for a long time.

Thing is I wouldn' t class Bioshock, Stalker, or the like as FPS' s - more FP-RPGs. Its the traditional FPS like Call of Duty, Doom, Quake, Resistance, Halo or...TimeShift that all kinda feel stale this generation.

They all seem to need a soild MP aspect to get them by, or even rely on, whereas Bioshock etc wont. But I really hope it doesn' t go the way of Deus Ex II as well!

It' d be nicer if it were on PS3.

People dev-ing for the 360 need to realise that it' s incredibly difficult to turn out an " innovative" shooter experience. I' m a big fan of FPS' s & OTS' s but really, I' ve been weeding through way too many shooters on the 360.

It' s actually becoming a bit of a chore to slog through some of them. I still haven' t finished Prey, & I' ve had that for way too long.

I agree! The market is flooded with them.....

I want more platform games dammit! The genre has been in decline in recent years which is a shame.... Mario Galaxy does look amazing though!

Yes, 360 has Halo Gears and soon UT.

All I can think coming to PS3 thats FPS that is a AAA FPS(acronym craziness ) is UT2007.

But really, I doubt PS3 owners or 360 owners really want this.
I dont want to celebrate, I want to sell you hate.
