I' m still not sure whether or not the gameplay would keep me playing for a sustained period of time as I' m not big on hack and slash games, even if its with a dragon. Very glad to see that it doesn' t seem to suffer from framerate issues as that was reported in its early stages. The most impressive scenery was definitely the water, cliffs, rocks etc, and the dragons looked really nice up close. The dragon looked like he moved fairly twitchy, likely the result of sixaxis control, but I' m sure I could get used to it, after playing flow and blazing angels I think it can work nicely.

Still pretty confident about purchasing this game, but all the same I hope they release the demo sooner rather than later. I do find it odd that it will go from alpha to gold in like 2 months though, unfortunatley can' t see much happening between now and then

Graphic wise, I found the grassy plain and the fire effects rather dull/ugly. And I also wonder how long the gameplay shown will stay fun.

Factor 5 are good developers, the game looks " good" but nothing mind blowing, but tehen again what we seen has hardly been much of the game itself. I would put my trust in this game, the water looks amazing as majik said the rest? well good. But nothing that hasnt been seen before.
Even if you break 2 legs from a crab it still runs! What you gotta do is find its weak spot and do massive damage at it.

Seems IGN screwed up with the capture, the textures dont look as low res as they appear on ign. i think gametrailers has better video - the dev walkthrough or something

The ground based gamapley looks terrible. It looks repetative and boring. The air based stuff, for the most part, looks great. The handling looks smooth, the animations, the lighting, the geometry in general, ...it all looks great. I have some reservations about the tilt-only control method and some minor qualms with certain aspects of the visuals but as a whole i think the air based combat looks very cool. I loved Rogue Leader and Rebel Strike was a good all-round, graphically amazing game, so i still have a lot of faith in Factor 5. I think there' s enough scope for it to remain engaging and not get overly repetative, and i also think that both screenshots and most probably even direct feed footage doesn' t do the game real justice. I' ll wait for the demo.

There is a decent bit of video on Lair and some hints at gameplay in the latest episode of IGN weekly. I think it shows off the game a lot better than the other videos have. The video starts with Too Human and the stuff on Lair begins about halfway through, followed by how to make a chrome wii[:' (]. Check it out, it' s the vid from April 13th

The ground combat looks awful, There was alot of potenital to have some great ground battles, I am sure you can think of some involving a dragon and 1000 soliders. I guess I have to play the game, the air combat looks alright, nohting mind blowing, but as I said, I need to play it to give a fair Judge. one pro is for the size of the game, the graphics are decent enough.

But dude, you cant judge a game until you played it especially when its gameplay probably is the reason to play it,via the sixaxis and to feel the control over an dragon up in the sky.

Lair, better known as lets run through thousa-ahem-hundre-ahem-tens of onscreen enemies towards the camera.[:' (] The air combat looks decent enough, but ploughing through footsoldier after footsoldier is gonna get old... quick.

Looking at this game, I realised I want a new Panzer Dragon game... And I also got impatient for Zone of the Enders 3, for some reason.

If they make the trips to fight ground troopers as short means for gaining health or accomplishing quick objectives then it could be a nice breakup of the combat. My guess is that they balance out all the massive peon slaying by having the dragon susceptible to massive damage within quick periods of time, requiring quick swoops in and out of that scenario in order to stay alive.

The air combat looks decent enough, but ploughing through footsoldier after footsoldier is gonna get old... quick. In that case, the Japanese should love this game. After all, there are plenty of great selling games they have had that are the same, but less diverse, with worse graphics, and extremely contrived storylines. That said, the Japanese also have a crazy market, and could easily not buy this game, for no apparent reason. I love their cars, and their electronics, even their culture and food, but I don' t even pretend to understand their media or gaming tastes. I still find it funny how Pearl Harbor (the movie that sucked more than Chadwarden meeting the Village People) grossed the largest profits in Japan. Edit : broken quote

I think it looks like a good game, the videos on game trailers impressed me. The ground combat shown thus far would be a great addition IF you could jump off and fight with the soldier, like in dragon dragoon/drakengard. Still can' t wait though, happy enough about motion controls, just hope its implemented well come release. GFX are more impressive than i first thought.

GTA Oklahoma!? Remember!? You get an achievement just for finding a person! by having the dragon susceptible to massive damage We know how well that theory worked out. Still can' t wait though, happy enough about motion controls, just hope its implemented well come release. GFX are more impressive than i first thought.
From a technical standpoint the game is fine, but I think it' s missing something. The ground troops are all equally spaced apart, doing not a whole lot of anything until you swoop down on them. I was expecting more than 1 on 1 swordfights on a battlefield that big, but that' s just me. Hopefully they can implement SIXAXIS correctly, but from reports as of late, controlling your dragon on the ground is a monster.

The ground motion control was removed ages ago, its now analogue based, the only complaints ive heard recently is what ign have said abut the turning 180 when in combat... also the lock on thig (as shown in the trailer) where you just seem to turn unexpectedly it seems would be a pain Overall it' ll be a 7/8 out of 10 i think
