Guitar Hero II 360 - Apr 04, 2007 03:50
I had it pre ordered and I just brought it home. The game is pretty sick. It' s fucking hard as hell at first, I' m still getting used to it.

Surprisingly the guitar itself isn' t too cheap. I think it actually has a higher build quality then the 360 itself.

Anyone else getting it?

Is it worth getting it if you dont want to get the plastastic guitar and just play with the controller? Or is that missing half the fun?

I' m not even sure you can use the controller. I know you can in multiplayer, but I' m not sure about single player. Assuming that it is possible, then I' d skip GHII completely if you don' t want to buy the controller. I didn' t even buy GHII myself, I just traded a bunch of old games for it.

But even so women just love a man who can play the guitar you dont have to be great at it, i dont know why, it must be in their genes or something, they just cant help it, poor creatures.

Yes. That' s why I' ve also become a professional football player, a special forces combat expert, an operative for an underground resistance movement on another planet, and the owner of multiple garages filled with immaculate sports cars. Video games are a waste of time when you can do all this stuff in real life!

Actually I play multiple instruments but this game looks like a lot of fun in its own right.

Thats exactly my point, there are alot of thing you can only do in videogames, but playing the guitar is hardly one of them.

It' s a bit of fun, it is not learning to play the guitar. It is a party game more than anything else.

This game is so freaking hard. If you want to be a decent player, you have to be prepared to cancel your life.

Yep, supposedly MS is not letting third parties make wireless peripherals. However they did say a wireless version of the guitar is in the works. So if you want to get the game you might want to wait.

Personally, I' m three feet away from the TV in my room so it I don' t care either way.

Give it a year. Thats how long I been playing. Once you complete freebird [or even, the much harder and impossible song, Jordan]. You earn some respect!

I still play like once a week, but Not nearly as much as I used too, Something of that little magic of playing it first disappears after a while. Still fun though.

Personaily I think GH1 has the better track listing.

If you have a ps2, or getting one, I highly recommend it.

Sounds a good social game - the wired guitar and the price tag puts me off a bit though.

As for real guitars - I suck. Gave up ten years ago due to being tone deaf.

Man, activating Star Power is a bitch... I know they wanted effect but they should have included a button to activate it as an alternative (Unless I' m retarded and there is a button).

The first few times I tried for Star Power I kept hitting the d-pad on the guitar at the bottom thus killing my combos! Now I' m extra careful with it. It looks fantastic though, really slick.
