Black Xbox 360 in late April for $479.

-An admittedly overpriced mega HDD
-Component/Composite/(What appeared to be)VGA triple cable (I' m in love)
-HDMI cable (75 bucks USED at Best Buy, I might add)
-Power supply (duh)
-An Analog RCA/TOS-link thingie that separates audio from HDMI
-Cheap@$$ Headset & etherweb like the premium.

See my issue is it has stuff I don' t want included.

Component is useless to me if I have HDMI, and therefore would never need the cables.

HDMI - I can buy em for $25 now so I would rather have a cheaper price and get the length/brand of cord I want.

- Analg RCA/TOS-link thingie. I don' t know exactly what it is but I just use the white and red cords that came with the ps3(actually I just use my old ps2 cords) and hook them up to my HDMI reciever and do it that way.

- The headset is shit, and most people admit that. So I don' t want it, I would rather buy what I want. Ethernet cord - well I have about 20 of those, and the ps3 gave me another I don' t need

- For HDD, I would prefer just a swappable drive that doesn' t have to be made by MS. Why can' t it just be like a computer or ps3 and let me slip in a new one of my choice?


After all is said and done, I will still buy one of these with the 65nm chipset, but it doesn' t mean I don' t dislike some of the decisions and the price they went with. I would always rather have a cheaper unit that lets me choose accessories rather than one that gives me the ones they deem fit and are generally not what I want. Understand I mean accessories like (cords, controls, input devices) and not hardware(disc drives, bluetooth, USB hookups, readers etc)

Take away the shitty cords and give me built in wireless, I don' t wanna spend $100 on an Xbox brand adapter or $80 on an aftermarket one. If the Nintendo Gimp can have it, then the bloody 360 should, or it should be an addon for $20, it shouldn' t be one more way to take my money. Get my money through good games, not through overpriced accesories.

I guess its sort of like Japanese cars compared to American ones. The Japanese cost more initially, but they come standard with a lot more options, and the packages to fully option are cheaper than the american equivalent. The American cars are cheaper initially, but after you option them up to your taste, they end up usually being as much, or more expensive than the Japanese equivalent. I' m a car nut, so don' t try telling me I' m full of shit.

As I said in the post, it has accesories I don' t want. It has the hardware I do want, like HDMI and HDD. It' s just that they overprice the HDD. A premium + HDD = more than elite with no HDMI

ehh... $180 for a 120 doesnt seem so bad when you look at the 20GB at $100. So for $80 more you can multiply your HD times 6

It does seem bad when you consider that a 20GB HD should be only about 20-40 bucks max(taking into account that they are proprietary). Best Buy has 120GB HD' s for the computer at around 40-70$ depending on sale.

I' m not saying it' s the optimal way to go, but some people would pay the extra 80 bucks for the HDMI & HDD alone. My reasoning was to hock off the cables & extra stuff to try & get some money back.

So that I can switch to my TV while keeping the ps3 music going but not the ps3 image.

Say my ps3 is on " video 1" then i get the sound and picture through HDMI when I switch to it, then say my TV is on " video 2" and my computer is one " video 3" then I just switch to those for display purposes, but the ps3 keeps making sound through " video 2" and " video 3" because I have the regular audio cables going into those video slots as well.

Oh alright, I gotcha. Don' t you get feedback from not getting composite signal though? I used to do something like that with my TV/360/Monitor. 360 to monitor and 360 to TV because I didn' t have speakers with RF Stereo.

P.S. What are you watching that doesn' t require sound?
