The price is too high. It should be $399, and a price drop to the earlier versions.

That just goes to show you what a ridiculous markup there is on the original 20gig HDD. If they can afford to manufacture an entirely new motherboard with a digital scaler, add an enormoose HDD, and still come out alright...

Mmmkay, & the 10 million people who' ve already bought a 360 were paid off by Microsoft? Every game company bought their way into the industry. They spend tons of money making a console, & hope to make it up with solid sales. Buying your way into games is what we call gaining exclusives. You pay somebody tons of money to keep their games on your box, it' s part of the game.

Quality or not, competition is a good thing for the industry. It makes sure companies are competing for your dollar.

Uh, Evil Man you realize that most of the developers that are making games for the PS3 are making games for the 360 right? Infact the only Publishers/Developers that are exclusive to Sony are the ones they bought. Why do you think Sony had so many exclusives with last gen? All the Publishers were in Sony' s pockets. All three platforms pay for exclusive games but Sony has been the most aggressive with that strategy in the past.

What we' re seeing now is a fallout from that, Publishers don' t want to get fucked over so a lot fewer of them will make long term agreements like they did with the PS2. Publishers learned their lesson and they have no choice with rising development costs they can' t afford to have mediocre exclusives anymore.

So other than Nitro, who' s actually considering buying this beast?

Me. I haven' t played a 360 for a few months, and I need one for Mass Effect and Bioshock. Besides that, I really want HDMI since my TV and Audio/Video Reciever use it. I would also like a black one to go with my ps3/tv/speakers etc. White would throw it off, and just wouldn' t look good with the ps3. And I won' t do case mods, xbox' s break enough as it is, I need my warranty intact . 120gb HD is nice too, especially if Live starts offering TV/Movie downloads. I' ve already filled 35gigs on my ps3, and I don' t have much IMO on it.

Yeah I' m getting it as well. I' ve got the Xbox1 on component (I still use the good ol' Xbox for mediacenter, emulators and lots more) & don' t want to use a component switchbox to be able to hook up both the 360 and Xbox1. Therefor HDMI is the way to go for me. My HDTV has got 2 HMDI inputs, so I better start using them.. and since I don' t plan on using a PS3..

I also really like it being a little cooler (temp.) & -hopefully- less noisy

Im definetly up for it, it will look more fitting in my setup, and the extra functionality is kewl..

It' s just a shame some people on here are still so narrow minded about things in general (actually, no scrap that, down right stupid). Currently the PS3 is most expensive and the most complicated to develop for - if only pirated games were in circulation not only would the honest, hardwarking developers and their families be put in jepoardy, but the software houses wouldnt have the revenue to support their investment of time and effort into the tools and development for the PS3 titles that multiplatform support brings in through milestone and royalty payments.

I' ll probably end up getting it if it exists, but not before I buy a PS3.

The first part is easy. In the next year, the Wii will probably have 3 or 4 good games in total(mario, zelda etc). In the next year, the 360 will have have plenty (mass effect, Bioshock, Halo 3, Forza 2 etc) Same goes for the PS3 with Heavenly Sword, LittleBigPlanet!, Motorstorm, Lair, GT5, Warhawk etc. Add in the shared games like: GRAW2, VF5, Dirt, Assasins Creed, Elder Scrolls: Shivering Isles, GTA 5 and plenty more.

Second part is understandable. So far though, I have no problems with wireless on my ps3, so I' m optimistic about the Xbox' s wireless adapter. It does piss me off that I have to pay extra for it though. After I buy the stuff I need on top of the big pimpin black Xbox, the ps3 will have only cost me about $70 more, and for that I get BluRay.


I' m pretty sure MS will include a HDMI cable with the Xbox, after the crazy amount of people that got angry over having to buy on for ps3, I would think they would be obliged to offering it with theirs.

They' d better. I can' t see them not doing it honestly. Although if they don' t, I' ll be the first one to flame them out for it.

I hope they put wireless in the console. Every other system manages to have built in wireless.
