I would rather wait for online rather then get it sooner with a crap setup like they have planned.

Someone needs to buy out nintendo so they can make games on consoles that don' t suck.

Friends codes are the least of the problem. Getting online sooner rather then later is the most important part, as many here have no doubt pointed out. As i said i' m not one who is real interested in online so it doesn' t concern me as much. Thats no to say i don' t want online, because i do.
I don' t think Nintendo ever touted the Wiis online as being better then or equivalent to XBL or even ps3 network, just that they will have online. I' m just hoping for something decent, not necessarily spectacular (can dream though).
Anyway if i wanted the best online experience i would have got a 360, but i wanted something different so i got the Wii. Shame i couldn' t get both in the same package, but such is life.

We came close, a few companies tried to buy out Nintendo last year. Nintendo had to spend 200 million buying it' s own stock to avoid the situation. I wouldn' t mind seeing Sony buy Nintendo. I' m sure Microsoft has it' s eyes on Nintendo and some people think Apple might buy the big N. If anyone can fuck up Nintendo more then Nintendo themselves it would be Apple.

Well with the phenomenal success of the DS and now the Wii thats not gonna happen anytime soon.

I nearly bought Nintendo once. Then they showed me Wii and i said " ...Nintendo Wii a Piece of S***" and walked away from the deal.

Microsoft tried to buy Nintendo, a few years ago during the xbox days and Nintendo said ' we are not for sale' . True story.

MS lokoed at buying SEGA too, but decided they were not a viable proposition after the DC...

Actually from what I' ve read there was still talk after the DC was launched. Both parties were about to agree and Sega would help develop the Xbox. But they wanted it to be compatible with DC-games. Microsoft didn' t want to though. Sega on the other hand didn' t really like working under a bloated Windows environment when it came to games. So the deal was off.

Too bad maybe in the end? At first I didn' t like the idea, but Microsoft' s cash and Sega' s (former) creativity combined could' ve been a good thing. Both for hardware and software then.

Well Dreamcast did use a version of Windows CE and Sega ended up designing the controllers for Xbox. I miss the VMU. I wouldn' t mind having a little LCD just built into my controller.
