New StarCraft Before 2008

At a WoW: The Burning Crusade launch event, Blizzard' s VP of Business Development hints at the next instalment in the StarCraft series.

Blizzard fans were out in force in London tonight, celebrating the launch of the much anticipated World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade expansion, but another Blizzard game might have stolen the limelight.

Itzik Ben Bassat, Vice President Business Development and International for Blizzard Entertainment, took the stage at HMV Oxford Street, London, and said some rather revealing words.

" I' m a StarCraft player myself and I hope it' s not a decade, and we launched StarCraft in 1998, before I' m standing here again, celebrating the next game in the series," stated Bassat while on stage.

So, while not an official date for the next game in the StarCraft series, a new game by 2008 looks very likely. We' ll keep our ear to the ground for more info.

Earlier today Blizzard game designer Jonathan LeCraft revealed to Pro-G that Blizzard has no plans to bring its hit MMO World of Warcraft to consoles.

I' m guessing Ghost was moved to next-gen afterall. The question is; for which console?!

Ghost is not the next StarCraft. Im pretty sure Ghost was scrapped all together. StarCraft 2 is well underway and I' ve alreay heard quite a bit on its visuals... I' m beyond excited to say the least.

Ghost was put on indefinite hold in March last year while they looked at next-gen consoles. Either way, a new StarCraft game will be awesome!

Lol, I watched the trailer for that last week randomly. I was so excited when I first saw it when the original SC came out.

Yeah i watched the trailer last week as well, i was really bummed out when it was cancelled adventure games was my favorite back then, and one made by Blizzard would have been ace, iv secretly been hoping it would be released for free someday.

It sucks because the game was basically done when it got scrapped.

<3 SC but I have doubts it will be out within 2 years after it is announced. Even if they have been working on it for 10.
