Some Videos of My ' Home' Projector. (not my ultimate Marquee) - Jan 14, 2007 20:39
Majik..

Seeing that you want to get a projector, i take your after a affordable ' home model' rahter than a top end Marquee that would set you back 1000s extra..

I Hooked up my DLP Benq PB8220.. it goes up to 720P and has a nice contrast ratio, decent lamp life, Nice Color temp. At a nice affordable Price. (around only £900 now)

Here are Some Videos I’ve Captured Using the Following:

Capturing Device: Sanyo Xacti HD Camcorder
Capturing Rate: 640 x 640 @ 60fps
Display: Benq PB8220 DLP Projector

Feed: Althon 64 4700+, Nvidia 7800, 1 GIG Ram.

Here i ran Lost Coast On Max Settings ‘Stress Test’..

Pretty scenery (10mb)

Swooping / panning (22Mb)

Gorgeous lightening, buildings / surrounds(32mb)

This is me Showing off LC’s awesome water and physics with one hand while holding the Camcorder. (31mb)

Here’s a 10 Second Capture from Prey (11mb)

Contrast ratio: This says’ Marque’e, its actually my benq. It still holds its own against a normal CRT/LCD plasma.. (tho not on the same level as my Marquee)

Although these Videos still dont really do the contrast much justice.. they do a decent job still.

Edit:

Overal for me, the main advantage of my Projectors apart from visual quality (Marquee). is that Your not just playin the game but your IN the game.. Especially on a system that can churn out 60fps..

Nice dude, very nice. But 1080p projectors cost < £4000, they' re not out of my price range.

But still, with 720p projectors being much cheaper...

I know you hate it but whats the chance of seeing Gears running on that thing?! (the Marquee i mean) ...at 1080p...

BTW, 83.75fps for a Lost Coast stress test is pretty good!

Yeah, sure.. Tho i must say 360 especially with Gears has quite a ' dull' look to it.. (well as u know, its a dark-looking game)..

When i get my Marquee back up, ill make a few more vids, this time with my 360 titles.

(BTW, my Benq goes upto 1080i not 720p)

Actually, the BenQ PB8220 has a native resolution of 1024 x 768 4:3 (XGA). It' s " maximum" resolution is 1280 x 1024, and not 1920 x 1080 (or 1080i or p).

BenQ does make really good projectors, though.

Hey, f3; is your Marquee 4:3 as well? Just curious.

I' m guessing VGA doesn' t help though. Do the color palette settings in the menu make any difference?
