Sticker Removal
-
Jul 13, 2004 03:34
I bought some games used from EBgames and they have the used sticker and price tag on them. I pulled the stickers off but of course left behind the adhesive. Does anyone know of any ideas to get rid of all the adhesive so the cases aren' t all sticky? I tried a cloth with hot water but it didn' t get rid of everything.

Electronics Boutique is evil. Next time you are there, tell them you want to buy the game but you want THEM to remove the sticker without damaging the box. Then ask them why they don' t use a diferent kind of adhesive that easily peels off. Then ask if their relatives are retarded just like them.

Heh, and if they refuse to take off the sticker, you can return it right there, that' d make ' em feel crunchy. Yeah EB is evil, they' re pricing DOAU 54 bucks, 5 bucks more than what it should be at.

The hot water & cloth worked to get all the paper portion of the stickder off but not the adhesive which has formed a thin hard to remove layer. I may try some more with the hot water but might haveto look into some specific adhesive removal products.

Ravenshaw, get the " Goo Be Gone" . Canadian Tire, Wal-Mart, Zellers all carry it.

i usually use rubbing alcohol. Apparently baby oil is good for getting rid of adhesives as well, but i would fear what it would do to the packaging, that stuff is greasy.

Yea rubbing alcohol would probably damage the sealing in some way. I think I might drop down to Canadian Tire and pick up some of that Goo be gone stuff. Sharon - How does it work? Just apply it and the adhesive comes off?

I just send the used games to Joe and have him remove the stickers for me then he sends them back. $1 per game, shipping is included in that $1 fee. Satisfaction is guaranteed or your money back.

Raven -- you just dab it on with a cloth, let it set for 30 seconds and rub it off (it is a little greasy, but that will rub off too). I use it on just about everything.
