Er whose comparing handheld to consoles, both the PSP and the DS are handhelds.

Oh by the way the GBA is no way in the same league as the PSP. The PSP walks all over it.

The GBA is old, that' s why PSP walks over it.
Still today the GBA probably has tons more entertaining games than the PSP because great gameplay lasts longer than great graphics.

In my DS i have a Flash Cart with the very best games of backups from my GBA collection. IE: Gunstar heros, Advanced wars, Rhythm Tengoku. Double Dragon Advanced, Metriod ETC.

People are hyping the PS1 - PSP thing way out a proportion.. Its a cool feature indeed, but nothing major..

M64

Probably THE Finest example of 32bit (64bit) console gaming to Handheld gaming Ive been playing on my DS since Launch with the added Bonus of 60fps, tons of Multiplayer options, new modes and over 150 mini games.. No PS1 port is gona come near that... And still M64DS is still only an average game when faced up with the the best of DS games.

PS1 port may be good for the PSP owner who hasn’t had decent games but most of your DS owners wont even batter an eylid Due already experiencing the finest example of that ERA..

Whe it comes down to the crunch.. ANY serious gamer would pick up the PSP and think.. ' I cant play on this shit' .. and put it back down again.. I’ve seen so many a case where people have said that exact same thing (and include the most hardcore PS fans)....

Decent screen but shit D-pad, too easy to smudge the display, does not exactly fit in your pocket, useless analogue stick and crap speakers.. Any ' seriously or hardcore gamer could see that this handheld is completely broke. And wouldn’t even waist their time with it.. How can one defend such an excuse is beyond me.

Bullshit, are u saying a whole new library has been added from one day to another , not any library games, but PSONE library, one of the greatest consoles of all times, and you call this " nothing major" , you must be kidding me.... today all people who use hacked firmware are very happy with their PSP.

i' m a serious gamer and i don' t think my psp is broke or garbage, why would i? sure it ' s a bit big to fit ion your pocket but i don' t really mind that for the future it offers me, i would prefer a biger size handheld BUT WITH ( PSP GAMES + PSONE GAMES + GBA GAMES + SNES and GENESIS games + NEO GEO + MUSIC + MOVIES + interent + HOMEBREWS + VERY NICE SCREEN + reading books + futur compatibility with ps3 ) than ( DS + GBA + MP3/movies (buying a special device for that))

it' s you who' s hyping up the ds ! tell mister those games that will make me choose the DS over what the PSP offers, come on list them go ! i' m waiting for this famous list.

LET ME please correct you on this one :

GBA games ARE much more entertaining that PSP games IMO.

GBA is faaaaar lesss entertaining than PSP.

same thing apply for the DS but not to the same extent.

Firstly the DS does not need any hyping.. cos its proving itself with casual and hardcore gamers.

Secondly playing PS1 games on the Go is nothing special, itll be good to play around with (just like old SNES / MD roms), but it wont be a major thing..

If you think its a major thing, that just shows how starved of decent proper PSP games youve been.

Even goes as a plus with my cliam of PSP being a crap handheld, PAcked with such power and the major thing to some is playing 10 year old games.

Sums it up.

No girls play PSP.
Lots of girls play DS.

btw, the reason why DS owns PSP saleswise is japan and the reason why japanese guys love their DS is the software price, they are sick and tired of paying 60 even 70 dlls for a PS2 game, the DS fits quite well as a handheld.

If your a serious gamer youll already know which games are special on the DS.. I own 20 odd games on my DS and their all range from good to excellent most offering Gamplay that is not even possible on PSP.

BUT WITH ( PSP GAMES + PSONE GAMES + GBA GAMES + SNES and GENESIS games + NEO GEO + MUSIC + MOVIES + interent + HOMEBREWS + VERY NICE SCREEN + reading books + futur compatibility with ps3 ) than ( DS + GBA + MP3/movies (buying a special device for that))

I don' t count homebrew stuff because then a portable PC would crush both consoles.
To use homebrew stuff on the PSP you' d have to buy an extra memory stick.
Just like you have to buy extra stuff for the DS to use homebrew stuff.
The DS has homebrew stuff too, don' t forget that.
The PSP offers mp3 and video playback but I thought we were comparing the games only.
I never use my PSP for video or mp3' s anyway. Only games. Nothing else.
You also forgot the fact that the DS also has a web-browser.
I never use my PSP for the Internet because the browser sucks! I' d much rather use my cell phone.
And just as you said the PSP will have future PS3 connectivity, the DS will have future Wii compatibility.
Try to include facts when debating, please.
The PSP has a very nice screen but the DS has two.
" But I don' t want two screens!"
Well then f*** it but most of us like them.

About female PSP owners, I have read at IGN or gamespot that the PSP has almost no female owners and that this was a problem to Sony.
Almost half of the DS owners, at least in Japan, are female.

About the list of games for each console, they both have the same amount of great games IMO.

My advice is:
For video, music and Internet, buy a good cell phone.
For videogames, buy a DS.

AND before you squabbling monkeys continue arguing which handheld is better (GBA by the way), it doesn' t matter because they will all lose to the XGP...

Looks like the new Gizmondo to me. Just a bunch of buisness criminals who want to collect investments for a product they have no intention of creating.

It was supposed to be released in September but no one has even heard from them since they made that announcement.

Ah yes, the Gizmondo. What a fascinating story.
Here' s my old thread about the whole thing:
The Gizmondo Scandal

(Adam, how do you find out the oroginal link to a thread you' ve found in the search? As you can see the thread I linked to now has yellow boxes around all the " Gizmondo" words. It looks kinda weird.)

Hahaha, yeah i have one too. So does Terry. The homebrew scene far outweighs that on PSP, my only complaint is the batteries. I just hope they go ahead and release XGP....

I wonder what the next generation of handhelds will bring us. I' m guessing HD screens as newer portable media players are getting 720p displays. Need better battery lives though...

I want a handheld that can properly emulate both PSP and N64 games well. OFC along with the other 8-16 bit oldies as well. Right now, even my standard work PC has problems with Playstation & N64 stuff, so it' d be a nice alternative.

Yeah, start laughing at my PC any time now. I' m all ears.

That thing will sell just as good as the n-gage. It screams Gizmondo.

" Earthworm Jim,
Through soil he did crawl
Earthworm Jim,
A super suit did fall.

Jim was just a dirt eating,
Chewing length of worm, flash
But all that came to a crash
And gave him lots of power

Earthworm Jim,
He' s such a groovy guy
Earthworm Jim,
He rockets through the sky

Cruising through the universe
Having lots of fun,
Here comes Earthworm Jim you know
That he' s the mighty one
--- Look out ---

la la la la la, la la la la la, la la la....

Despite his great big muscles
And his really big ray gun,
Jim is still an Earthworm
But then he' s the only one,

With a super suit to make him really super strong,
Jim can be a winner if we only sing along...
(alright)

Earthworm Jim,
We think he' s mighty fine
Earthworm Jim,
A hero for all time

Earthworm,
Earthworm,
Earthworm,

Earthworm Jim
Hooray for Jimmmmmmm

Gahhroovy!"

You guys remember the song don' t you? I used to get up Satuday mornings just to heard the song on TV. Well that and watch marvel cartoon shows.

Haha, those are the same games I owned. I enjoyed mine for sure, but it ate batteries like nothing I' ve ever used. Still, color screen on a handheld way back then was awesome. I think I was 8 or 9 when I got it when it released.
