ps3 GTHD Playable Track + 16 cars Free - Dec 25, 2006 15:11
Just noticed nobody posted anything about a free online download of Gran Turismo HD demo on the playstation store. It has 16 cars, one track, both forward and reverse and time trial and " drift" mode. I downloaded it today, its 700mb or so.

All O can say is for a car sim junkie like me, it was a blast to play it. I know its one track, but its a good one, and the graphics are easily on par with any other racing game(the scenery is even better). It really makes me sad they aren' t releasing a full version, because it is stunning. I thought it would be a gt4 clone with better graphics and framerates but its not. The track is new, the cars move more realistically, and the physics have even been tweaked.

When it was announced you could buy cars and tracks for money online, I thought it was a bad idea, and that myself huge fan of car racing sims wouldnt consider paying for some tracks and cars. However, after playing, I know I would buy a few tracks and my favorite cars. Anyone who has a ps3, you have to DL this.

Awesome! Especially that the DFP still works, I was wondering about that.

I dled a few vids of it on playsyde and the drift mode looks like a lot of fun! GT has always been poor in terms of sound, and some of the backd textures are very 2D and dodgy as always, but if you manage to get a screenshot of the car in the right place, it almost looks real!

I' d have to play it myself to comment on the physics, but the tire slip model in the drift mode looks cool. So I' m just wondering - does the drift mode have different physics to the normal mode ie can you drive normally in drift and vice versa??

(Btw I' ll cut and paste those links so we don' t have 2 threads. Mods can delete the other one!
