1080p Dark Resurrection set for Playstation Store
-
Dec 07, 2006 17:09
US, December 6, 2006 - The PlayStation Network is off to a slow start, but things are going to get a lot more interesting in the near future. According to Japan' s Famitsu Weekly, Bandai Namco will be releasing a version of Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection for the download service. A release date and pricing information were not announced. This version of Tekken 5 is based off the arcade update that powered the recent PSP entry in the series. The PS3 version will feature full 1080p visuals and the playable debut of boss character Jinpachi, who was unplayable in the arcade version. The various modes found in the arcade game, including arcade battle, ghost battle and gallery, will also be updated for the PS3 version. At the very least, this ought to hold Tekken fanatics over until Bandai Namco is ready to start talking about Tekken 6. Kickass!

I' ve hated Tekken since Tekken Tag tournament. Nothing beats the epic battles of Devil and Angel, then Ogre to True Ogre..

I have it on the PSP, I' m all set If it' s cheap enough AND they include both levels and music from the original Tekken 5 as well then I might be tempted

Great news, I only wish I could be better at fighting games than what I am. Ten hit combos hurt my head.

ORIGINAL: Majikdra6on ORIGINAL: mastachefbkw ... in Dead or Alive, all you do is tap buttons and you win *Fixed* I' ve seen people just " tap buttons" in Dead Or Alive, if that' s what it was all about, everyone would be good. Virtua Fighter is probably the most strategic fighter out there, it' s a shame I never actually got into it as much as I would have liked to. I was tempted to get a PS3 just for that, but I' m not into VF enough to do that.

Nothing beats the epic battles of Devil and Angel, then Ogre to True Ogre.. So true, I think After Tekken 3 the series went down hill...I hated Tekken 5 so much. Not the great fighter I remember.

December 7, 2006 - Unless you' ve been playing with your Wii all week, you' ve probably heard the big news: Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection is coming to the PlayStation 3! Set to be distributed through the PlayStation Store, the download will feature all the content of the arcade version, along with an exclusive new bonus: Jinpachi playable! Today, we got a first look at the game via Japan' s Impress Watch. As expected, the PS3 version looks just like the arcade version, but running at a super high resolution. We' ll refer you to the Impress Watch story for the 1280x720 screenshots. One shot midway through the page is a comparision showing off the original arcade version' s 640x480 resolution with the full resolution of the PS3 version, 1920x1080. Impress reports that the Dark Resurrection will clock in at about 800 Megabytes. Release and pricing information are still listed as TBA. Pics -> http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20061208/tk5.htm 800mb huh?, dont care about the size, but the price has to be good, anything under 15 is good.

Jeezus! Dark Resurrection looks fantastic in 720, i can only imagine 1080p @ 60fps!!! It' s not Virtua Fighter but Tekken is the next best thing. Tekken' s 2, 3 and 5 have been the series highlights with the PSP version of Dark Resurrection being the best version yet. This is going to be an awesome substitute for VF5, at least until it arrives. I wonder whether this was planned all along and that' s why it wasn' t released on PS2...

Looks awesome, and finally the home version we always hoped would happen. Have to say though, the game looks much better in 480p. The textures appear look more detailed and less flat and pixelated, so obviously they' ve just got the 480p arcade assets and just rendered the game at 1080p. Still I' m not complaining since I' ll have a naitive 480p and 1080i TV soon, so I can enjoy the original display in addition to HD goodness.

Dark Resurrection is recycled last gen garbage.... That' s a pretty poor thing to say. Just because it' s an older game doesn' t make it worse or better than it was, and Tekken 5 was great. You could port VF4 arcade perfectly or Scud Race to PS3 and they would still be awesome games. Sometimes it' s what some of us want, and we should be happy that Namco are doing this. Hell I hated that I had to play Tekken DR on my PSP.

The simple fact that an 800MB arcade game that' s only available elsewhere on PSP will be available for download through Sony' s online service makes a mockery of XBLA. Live Arcade currently has a 50MB limit for games (because they need to fit on a memory unit so you can take them to your friends or some other bullshit), and while UMK3, Small Arms, Geometry Wars Evolved etc are all fantastic, PS3 getting Dark Resurrection is by far cooler. Microsoft need to up their game, so to speak.

That' s a pretty poor thing to say ..not really dude... ...i was just being blunt, but honest... ....yes i enjoyed Tekken 5 too... ...but do you really think it being re-released with three new characters in 1080p is worthy of your time (and money) as a gamer?.... ....i think it' s little more than a distraction..... ...i say: stop wasting our time with this last gen crap and give us the real next-gen deal, please Namco/Sony... ..people don' t spend €/£/$600 on a " Supercomputer" for last gen games... .....if anyone wants to play Tekken 5, they' ll fire it up their PS2 or PSP...

hahahaha,good one
Even if you break 2 legs from a crab it still runs! What you gotta do is find its weak spot and do massive damage at it.
