Heh, I didn' t even try :P Going to watch the trailer soon.

Edit: My God...that trailer...blew me the fuck away. I expected something good...but that was freaking amazing. Best Halo trailer...ever, it beats " bet you can' t stick it" by a long shot...wow...still reeling from the awesome.

Master Chief > ALL

I' m all registered up. Of course I suck at multi-player! I used to be pretty decent, but once you get all out of practice... suckage!

haha, one of my friend' s I met at my job this summer wanted me to play Halo 2 online with me last night. I played with a LAN with him one time during the summer and he wanted me to play with him against some friends at school.
I really didn' t wanna play and hadn' t played since GoW came out but I gave in.

Same,or lynda, anyway the trailer wass cool.

We just learned that they gonna use a sprint function and shield generator that you must active, and more spartans will be in halo3.
Even if you break 2 legs from a crab it still runs!
What you gotta do is find its weak spot and do massive damage at it.

Linda had bright red hair so it can' t be her.

I don' t think this means we' ll get shields, sprinting and more spartans. I think it was just supposed to be a badass vid.

Still can' t believe they are thinking of making people pay to play a beta. The funny thing is that there will probably be lots of people who will gladly do it. That' s why they get away with things that we wouldn' t have accepted, just a couple of years ago.

I mean Beta testing used to be a paid job, and we wouldn' t accept the level of noise the 360 emmits (heck, I still don' t approve on how loud the Ps2 was).
Also, things such as games that F*cks up your console is to me inexcuseable (yeah, I' m thinking ' bout Majik and his Gears) and I think it' s the biggest bug of all times.

... But to get back on topic, the trailer was nice, but it still doesn' t beat the GoW trailer (the sad one ). It would be really nice if Halo 3 will look anything like that trailer. Also I hope they aren' t thinking about bringing story to this last episode... It would ruin the charming simpleness Halo had going.

BTW: Who the f*ck is Linda?

No, Cortana is, and always was, a hologram.

Is anyone else having trouble with the beta site?

They always had story in the Halo series, Halo 2 was the only simple one...and that could have been fleshed out had Bungie spent a little more time on Single Player and less time PLAYING Multiplayer...course they developed a kickass Multiplayer game so how can I really argue.

Sure, I like ' em to, but in Halo I thought the lack of story was one of it' s good parts (like in Gears) and I think it would feel odd if they started trying to make something BIG, sotrywise in the last installment (I don' t really agree with you Alec, i thought both Halo' s had a very simple/non existent plot... but I haven' t read the books, which I hear have lots of it).

Halo nor halo2 didn' t have a big story with plots in it?

You need to use the volume next time so you can hear what they said.

I think what he' s trying to say is that the storyline was perfect for carrying along the shooter aspects, and if they try to get all " in depth" and sh*t they' ll ruin the pacing of the game.

I agree, Dionysius.

Basically, " keep it simple, stupid" !

Sweet trailer...but it just makes me lust all the more for actual gameplay footage.

Halo' s story is one of the things that got me hooked on the series; I' m not a multiplayer gamer at all. I was even impressed with the whole Arbiter thing from part 2. It was fascinating to see the struggle from the other side.

I like a game that can give me an interesting storyline without falling into melodromatic cliche' s and pointless, time consuming cinemas...

I wasn' t saying Halo was heavy on plot, I was simply saying that the plot was heavier than you are making it out to be. Gears of War is a good example of a simple plot, they really didn' t flesh out the characters in that game. However Captain Keyes and Master Chief are fleshed out, so is Cortana in the first game. The second tries to create a broader story, but really fails at it because of the lack of background. The only reason I played Halo 1 was because that Story was existent and it wasn' t DOOM. I can go more into detail and help prove to you that there was a story embedded in that game, but I' m really not in the mood at the moment. And really the reasoning for you liking the games for lack of story is the reason that Shooters are starting their descent into the shitter. Bioshock I sure as hell hope rejuvenates this, but Doom 3, Quake 4 and quite a few other generic shooters make me recoil at the lack of innovation in the genre.

The story of Halo wasn' t all deep and philosophical. It was all pretty standard and easy to get in to. That' s what I wanted to say. Nothing new, nothing that took active brain cells to understand. It was easy to guess what would happen, just like in many Hollywood action flicks... Which I found to be nice, as I weren' t a Halo fan and just wanted to move on, killing aliens. Sure there' s a story, but it' s not a big/deep one... it' s one we' ve already heard and therefore don' t need 5h long cutscenes to understand, so we dive in to action.

It' s sorta like when I and my friend played Gears, when I asked " Hey, wait a sec! Why are we in these tunnels, now again?" and he went like " Who cares?! Now shoot the F' CKERS!"

Oh! And I' m also looking forward to BioShock, partly for its story.

The story of Halo was indeed deep, since it let you get tons of question even when you' re done with the game, without feeling that you never had a good story to follow.

About GoW.

That story made much sense until the train level.

Strange that he was chosen seeing as it was only US XBL members that would be given this round of beta testing. Europe and the rest have to wait.

Coratana letters basically spoiled Halo abit even before Halo was out.

The story and its plot is very deep, its seem as it was written for over 6 years ago.

Nope, Xboxyde and XCN have a deal with Microsoft for 100 people and Quez ended up being one of them.

Guess story is one of the things one cannot really rate. I never had any real questions at the end of the game, nor did I feel like I saw something I hadn' t before " and frankly my dear, I don' t give a damn!" . It was fine the way it was.

For me it wasn' t Hamlet, or Blade Runner, nor FF7 or even Half Life.

To me Halo was more like a Spiderman comic, Die Hard and Gears... And I dislike none of them, ' cause they serve their purpose.

Also, Gears did make sense... just that the story was so thin that I didn' t care and forgot about 2 secs after the cutscene had past.

Edit:

Quez, do you need to pay for it, or was that just bogus?

But for others Halo' s story and plot is one of the most intresting in a game ever.
