FFVII: Crisis Core TGS trailer (PSP) - Dec 04, 2006 19:34
It' s in Japanese, with no subtitles, but GAWD it doesn' t even matter!

Linkie to CG/gameplay goodness

After watching it, I kinda wish Zack was still alive to be the main char of FFVII, instead of Cloud with a mussed up carbon-copy of his memories.

Looks as slick as a PS2 game, awesome cinemas, a second JENOVA' s child besides Sephiroth...and some guy at the end who looks like a cosplayer who used too much red material when making a Sephiroth costume...

No ffs,and Cloud wasn' t just a copy, what made Cloud much more intresting and cool was how we got to follow his journey from being disselussioned and agry at the world,to find the truth and be the strongest, sound as a lame japanse anime or rpg right?

But it wasn' t to find Clouds truth and Zack was very intresting, and the story is much more intresting when you finally find out why Cloud behave like he does,he doesnt have much confident in himself, but make it looks so,until he litteraly breaks down into a insane person who doesnt know what he is or what he was.

Zack was a bad sephi wannabe, who also died.
Like it or not but Cloud managed to kill sephiroth, and for one second, even surpaced Zack and Sephi in courage and strenght.
Even if you break 2 legs from a crab it still runs!
What you gotta do is find its weak spot and do massive damage at it.

Sephiroth doesn' t really have ' courage' ; he' s just so detached and freaking powerful he' s in a state where he realises nothing can really hurt him.

I mean, you defeat Safer Sephiroth in the end because you use the ultimate Limit Break automatically and he doesn' t even really attack you. We will never know what it' s like to face up to the full mettle fury of Sephiroth!

And yeah, now I can see how Zack would be annoying...he is like a mix of Tidus and Zidane...not NEARLY as annoying as Tidus but also talkative like him, and is likable like Zidane.

If it weren' t for his looks though, he won' t get half as many fans -.-

Byakko,i never meant that moment,i meant when Cloud rush into the Legend, the myth the god wandering human Sephiroth, and feel the coold steel in his body, and thinks he is gonna die,but draw all his strenght for a finale payback.

And throw sephi down to his death.

Ofc Sephi survived cause he hold jenova and fell into lifestream, and was in a death-life like state.

But then Cloud showed what he got.

He also knew Zack was much much stronger them himself, and saw what happend, this what cloud was going for was a freaking suicide but to show what he was made of for jus ta moment, even if it meant his death.

Cloud was much cooler ^^He was alos much darker, without being depressive as Squall, who atleast had some things to be happy over.

That could be true.

Personally I would call it dumb-male bravado, but ' courage' sounds nicer

I never really ' felt' Cloud' s personality. First you have the fact he' s kinda mussed up, so you suspect his mannerisms and his thoughts cos, really, who is he?

Then, and I' m talking gameplay wise, he' s personality meanders and flips around, letting the player have options for Cloud to say things that you really wouldn' t think someone like Cloud would say.

Like in the beginning, where you can choose whether " Barret' s snoring kept me up" or " Besides you, who wouldn' t?" when Tifa asks him how well he slept.

Now, it' s just me, but that kinda sounds way more flirtatious then I would think Cloud would be.

I can imagine someone like Zidane maybe saying that, heck even Tidus; but cool-headed Cloud? Not so much...

But that is what makes cloud more intresting, cause he is in much pain, and much of his history is hidden, thus letting the player " create" how the normal Cloud would behave when he wasn' t in pain as in that moment.

Btw,Zidane was a freaking pimp :)

Loved Zidane,He and me have same haircut ^^

BUT IM NO MONKEY WITH A TAIL

Anyway,FF9 was just magical,be honest byakko, didnät you have a smile on your face while playing FF9?

It' s just one of those games that never become OMG ROXXOR FUCKUING IMGA OWNAGE FF game, but it let you smile and be happy for one of the few times in FF history.

Loved it,so much.

With that said i liked more serious FF7,but FF9 really was needed for the serious darker hi-tech and love stories in FF games.

I never said I didn' t, did I ?

I like FFIX for its ' simplicity' . Now, that' s in inverted commas cos I mean that I LIKE having my characters in certain roles - Black Magic user (Vivi!), White Mage, Knight, Thief etc...

So I wouldn' t have to micromanage so much. And I like having learnable skills from equipment

It was very FF Tactics-ish.

And Alexander vs. Bahamut was so awesome there.

XD

I' ve never seen a fellow ' woman' that had such big biceps and naturally gelled hair.

Great, FF makes gays out of BOTH SEXES

IGN have tried out the game:
http://psp.ign.com/articles/751/751423p1.aspx

Taken strictly on technical merits, Crisis Core is the most impressive PSP game I' ve ever played. In fact, with the PSP' s small screen providing an assist, I' d go so far as to say that Crisis Core looks better than most PS2 games out there.

During cinematic scenes, the character models are detailed and fully animated. Battles contain screens with double digit enemies, and giant bosses. All that, and full voice, wihtout any pauses for loading!

Crisis Core seems almost too technically sound to be a PSP game. It also appears to have some of the highest production values yet seen in a portable game.

Personally, I think all the " Compilation of Final Fantasy VII" products released so far have been second rate. But Crisis Core looks so good that it could turn things around on its own.

Looking good

Gawd dammit I want a PSP!!!!

...sigh...

I hope all that hack-and-slashing doesn' t become to repetitive. I wonder how all the usual FF stuff, spells, summons, whatnot, are going to be mapped out. MGS Portable Ops already has problems with the lack of buttons as it is...
