XBOX 1 DVD playback 480p with advanced scart?

Is it possible to get 480p DVD playback with Xbox 1, when using the Advanced Scart (RGB)? Or do I need a component cable?

I' ve got a HDTV; so that' s not an issue (it can display 480p).

You need to get a component cable (MS HDTV pack) to do this. However, if you have a PAL Xbox then you' ll also need to at least soft-mod it to enable NTSC mode first, only then can you use the component lead and output 480p.

Thx 4 the info Kyo.k, my PAL Xbox is ' fixed' so no worries there.

But after I enable 480p, 720p and 1080i in NTSC mode (I think I' ll change it in UnleashX) with the component cable, can I change the region back to PAL? Or does the Xbox need to be in NTSC mode after that, for the HD modes to work?

I' m pretty sure the Xbox 1 only allows 480i playback of movie DVDs.

Joe is right, even if you have component it will only play them in 480i.

Oppps, sorry about that. Was sure that the old XB could do 480p on DVD, but I guess it was only on games.

Hm, I thought you could upscale them with XBMC.

Not sure about Xbox Media Center, but I wouldn' t be surprised if it could do 480p. It might even upscale them to 720p and 1080i like it does with everything else. Xbox Media Center kicks tremendous amounts of ass. But I have a real DVD player and don' t use the Xbox for that.
