There is one thing to remember with these auctions too. A great deal of the bids you see on PS3' s aren' t actually " real" .
Somebody gets their buddy to put down $1120 on their PS3, gets buddy #2 to put down $2000 on it, & so on & so forth, so that way when the real bidders hit the auction, their extremely outrageous bid feels safer. This way, if nobody buys before his buddies are done janking up the price, he pulls the console at the last minute & re-lists.

It' s underhanded, but it works. But then again, it' s like trying to catch Kaz Hirai by dangling a $50 SIXAXIS off of the side of The Grand Canyon. Underhanded, but it works.
