No, you cannot use ps2 controllers on the ps1, but you can do it the other way around, useing the ps1 controller on the ps2.

You should be able to, I don' t think Video Games are Region Locked...only consoles.

You cannot play export games on your PS1 without modding the system or using a swap disc method.

You can actually get PS4 games to load up on a PS1, but the framerate suffers.

Switch the TV to 60Hz?

I' m not too familiar with UK TVs but tI think the 60Hz mode is basically an NTSC mode. Someone correct me if I' m wrong. And also know that I really, really hate being wrong!
