Damn majik, you' re a mind reader man. I was just sitting here checking out some old games on wikipedia from the past, & I started to remember back in the days wishing that one day my home games (nes, sega master system & genesis) would look at least close to arcade games. Even when i got playstation & saturn, it didn' t really happen(I loved the sega model 2 & model 3 arcade games at the time). but then i remembered getting my dreamcast, & playing hydro thunder & later soul calibur(which destroyed the arcade game, it you zoom in on ivy' s butt, it jiggles when she moves, that completely blew my mind). I almost cried when I realized that home consoles have finally arrived. Guess that' s why I don' t really get caught up in this system power wars everyones been having lately, because i' m really blown away at how far games have come in a relatively short time span.

Its hard to imagine where gaming will be 20 years from now. I bet consoles as we know them will even exist. MS will have taken over everything with PCs. They' ll have a standard controller and Sony and Nintendo will be making PC games. That doesn' t actually sound so bad too me. Everyone will have the ultimate gaming rig and get to build it yourself. No more consoles to buy....

I love the " Wiki-wiki-wik" background voices in that awesome Nintendo Zelda Rap. Also, why is the cool kid hanging with the nerd? He is just sitting there doing nothing when the nerd thrusts the " Nintendo newsletter" in front of him. Maybe the nerd came over to the cool guy' s house, brought his Nintendo Entertainment System (with black buttons and giant Nintendo logo) and his parents to help him hook it up.

Sega had much better commercials, in my opinion. A much higher level of energy, more mature and definitely more arcade-y.

The 2nd video is seriously scary Joe. Who ever played like that?!

I loved the ' Do not underestimate the power of Playstation' PS2 ads but those as well as Sony' s PS3 Play Beyond' ' Rubik' s Cube' and ' Possessed Baby' ads and Nintendo' s GB Micro ads are too surreal. Gaming is supposed to be about having an arcade in your living/bed/whatever-room, surely???

At least these ads showed some gameplay footage, unlike today, I laughed at the Graw ad when the words ' not actual in game footage' came up, the game looks great and you made a stupid cgi clip to hide it? jeez.
Change is inevitable. Except from a vending machine.
