Gosh the first Lost planet isn' t even out yet. And if ps3 do get LP2 then we better get devil may cry 5. Nothing about the xbox owners won' t appreciate cool games like dmc...we did enjoy nina gaiden after all. If dmc did come out on the 360 do u know how happy that' ll make me and many others who have given up on Sony.

But as far as I' m concerned Lost Planet will gain a major fan base on the 360. Like Ninja Gaiden did. I doubt Ninja gaiden stigma will do well on the PS3 (for 1 thing it' s an old game) And there are many like it, so it would be competing.
Why release LP2 on the ps3 when it' s fan base would have grown on xbox360 users, thanks to the first LP. It' ll be easy for a game like this to gain popularity on the 360 simply because there aren' t enough of these types of games on it, and it' s not competing with any game of the same genre.

I think it' s one of the main reasons dead rising did so well on the 360. Theres just nothing like it on the console. It would sell on ps3 but not like it did for 360.

I guess we' ll find out. It isn' t a source i' ve used before though but i' m pretty convinced and it makes sense that Capcom would want the game to be successful in Japan. It sounds like RE4 all over again.

I think making it PS3 exclusive would be a really bad move, making it availeble on both platforms would make more sense.

Im pretty sure if they do something like that, they are going to loose alot of money, and i do mean a lot!

Maybe being popular in Japan is important, but its 5 times more important to be popular in the west as theres a bigger market here by far!

It wouldn' t be out before early 2008 anyway and PS3' s installbase, after christmas 2007 will be about the same as 360' s (probably) and so it simply comes down to a royalty deal.

Microsoft secured Splinter Cell 5 as a 360 exclusive so it' s hardly surprising that Sony are working their magic and pulling some strings. Bear in mind that Capcom have always supported Sony.

Anyhoo, as long as everybody gets to play RE5 then who cares?!

Lets see if sony doesnt go bankrupt before that, their profit was down 95% this year, thats rigth they made 5% of the money this year, that they made last year! Due to manufacturing PS3' s and bad notebook batteries!

MS should just do hostile take overs of all sony' s 3rd party developers, that would make me smile.

I think Microsoft will be looking to buy Ubisoft further down the line. That and aquiring UE3.0 for 360 middleware...

I didn' t think Rare would leave Nintendo.

They could always go 1st party.

Money speaks louder then any of us and wheather DMC stays a Sony exclusive will depend on how much Sony is willing to pay in order for it to stay only on the PS3.

I tought Capcom' s direction lately was about going multiplatform, so... how would this make sense? Anyway, alienating an entire userbase is an extremely bad idea, especially since Xbox 360 owners will have played the first game, and will not buy a PS3 just to play the second; it might leave a bad taste in some poeple' s mouths.

It' s possible but it was referred to me as a direct sequel with Sony securing exclusivity.

Bear in mind...

You guys are going to be surprised by some upcoming capcom announcements. I' m not sure of the state of DMC but other games are going to have you baffled.

...that this is coming from industry sources and isn' t just random speculation.

It could be a period of exclusivity, it could be a game akin to Sigma as you so rightly point out, it could be 100% exclusive. Whatever the case is, it' s for PS3 and that is big enough for me to be interested.

Ofcourse, Rampage could be talking about something else, but i highly suspect he simply isn' t allowed to say...

Jesus...When it comes to japanese developers MS always lose....lost planet, Ninja gaiden, Onimusha, DMC or even Final Fantasy.
