BD looks like a freaking cartoonish movie.

It' s more artistic style than sheer graphical detail. Comparing it to GoW, etc isn' t really meaningful.

BD is not going to win any awards for pushing massive amounts of polygons on the screen, but its simplicity and cinematic feel gameplay definitely pushes the boundaries of what was previously thought possible. Personally I think it looks fantastic in its own right, not because of sheer detail - it' s because of style.

Akira Toriama is an excellent artist, seeing his stuff in 3d is fucking awsome. And I stand by my statement that this game will blow Lost Odysse away.

yeah, for me theres not much point buying a ps3 anymore cause of the amount of sweet rpgs coming for it. M$ are also putting a lot of effort in getting more and more jap developers to make more jrpgs...this make me very happy. I don' t mind missing out on FF13 when lost odyssey and blue dragon are coming.

You know, there' s a reason you don' t compare something like, Ranma 1/2 to Hellsing.

They' re just different. Their art styles reflect their content, and even IF BD' s kinda cartoonish, I think everyone knew from the first trailers that graphics weren' t exactly the main draw for the game.

Then again, maybe if they opted for the psuedo-cell-shading like in Dragon Quest VII, it' ll be more appealing?

Your looking at it the wrong way! You cant judge a style like that, its a unique style, so maybe it doesnt have to puysh a million triangles!

I want a mature oriented jRPG like FF7 or 8 - yes I consider those mature oriented games.

I really liked Dragon Ball when I was younger. But when I got older I realised how much Dragon Ball f***ing sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first volumes are great, until Raditz appears and the whole Z saga begins because from there on it' s the same pattern over and over: Great threat, training, big muscle powerups, fights, glowing, huge energy attacks, new saiyan level, end of story.
All the episodes before had much more humour and thought to it. I got really disappointed when the series moved away from that.
Anyway, even though some of his previous work is great it' s really getting boring to see him use the exact same stuff even today. Most artists try to renew themselves and such but Toriyama just keeps going with the same old formula for his designs.

Dragon Ball is awsome, I' m 20 and I can still recognize that it kicks ass. The problem with the mythology is that the television show is completely shitty. Most people know the series only by the watered down stretched cartoon (especially the US version). The magnas which are actually made by Akira and not ruined by some lowlife trying to turn one page into an entire tv episode.

I read the french version which is just as gory as the japanese version, nothing is taken out or censored. All the blood, guts, cruelty, swear words and nudity that was originally intended is in the french magna. If you follow the plot through the magnas an not the filler junk thats on TV you' d see that it' s surprisingly deep.

The real Dragon Ball series is a real anime, one that is deffinitely not for kids.
