My brand new 360 broke

i got a xbox 360 last sunday, and wen i wer playing on it last nyt and it made this reli load scraching noise in the disc compartment so i quickly opened the disc tray to find the out side of my disk the bit with the pictures on was scratched to buggery, so i put the disk bak in and it came up reading disk but then made a beep noise n sed open disc tray, so it will not let me play games, i read about it sum wer tht its better to lie it on it side rather thn stand it vertical so i did but it still dusent wrk , and i have tryed all 4 of my games and non of them wrk... has this happened to any body els please help

Anyways. I' ve heard of this problem happening, but only if you were doing something stupid like putting pressure on the 360 from the side, or if you were trying to put it on its side while it was still on. Because if not, there' s no explanation for what is " scratching your disk to buggery" . I haven' t gotten around to actually opening up my 360 yet. Not a chance while it' s still under warantee, but unless there' s something sharp, or with a defined edge, hanging down on the drive, I can' t see how that could happen.

here in the usa takes an couple of hours to get an new one jus take it back to the store. I hope you bought an store warranty ms sucks at support to me that is.. When i had that red light problem ms told me it was hardware faiulre well no shit its hardware failure lol man just take it back

The vertical horizontal issue for htose of us with not enough common sense to know that moving a console around with a disc spinning is not a good idea.

The idea of that (common with laptops or any high speed cd drive actually) error affecting all your games..

My first 360 was deffective and I had to send it in, wasn' t a big deal though. Because I live in Canada MS had no choice (according to Canadian law) but to replace the 360 at no charge. I didn' t even pay for shipping and I recieved a bran new 360 within a week. Not a big deal. I remember when my ps2 was deffective Sony BS' d their way into not replacing it.

if your story is true, and your 360 is brand new stop bitchin and call microsoft you have a 6 month warrenty,unless you got the extended warrenty which is like a year and a half they will give you a new 360 or fix your old one.
