VGA adapter - Sep 10, 2006 04:27
I' d like your advice. I' m one of those lunatics who does not own a television. I do have a great PC monitor, though.

I currently have an Xbox, which I don' t intend to get rid of unless MS gets some of my favorites perfectly backwards compatible (JSRF, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Beyond Good & Evil, among several others). I am going to get a 360 sometime in the next few months.

So ideally I' d like to get a VGA adapter that will work with both the Xbox and the 360, and hopefully for $100 or less. If they' re pricier than that I' ll probably just get a standard definition TV and wait until HDTVs are down to the $300 range. Any tips?

Edit: Oh yeah, in case you' re curious as to how I was playing previously, I had a housemate with a TV but am moving into a new place of my own soon.

I couldn' t find the VGA cable for the XBOX.

I haven' t seen VGA for Xbox either, although it' s not like I' ve exactly looked, not owning an Xbox and all that. I really would wait for the 360 to update their emulation to get some of your favorite games. picking up a new tv or cable for it just doesn' t seem smart. Sure, if you can find a POS tv at a garage sale or something, more power to ya, but I wouldn' t make any kind of investment in it.

Nah,here in Sweden we pay everything like twice as much as in USA.
But the HD 360 VGA cable cost 20-30 dollar here.

There are some VGA adapters for xbox 1 but they are crappy, they convert the 480i instead of the 480p. There are adapters to convert component 480p/720p signals into VGA you can get but then you need the component adapter for xbox 1. And the adapters are expensive.

Evil Man, normally I ignore your repressed Midwestern suburban vitriol, but here' s a clue to let you in on the nuances of my previous message. Within the realm of the coming years, there will eventually come a time when demand for HDTVs increases to the point that they will be sold for about $300. I' m fully aware that that is not something that is going to happen any time within the next 24 months or so, but it will happen, and it will be sooner than you contributing anything substantive to the discussions on this forum.

Oh, and to make sure that there' s something in this message that you can comprehend, I' ll close by calling you a bitch.
