Wii to Launch Next Week!
-
Sep 08, 2006 05:06
First of all, its a long shot, but clearly not impossible. http://www.joystiq.com/2006/09/07/major-next-gen-console-news-coming-tonight/#comments This could what be it, This could the ' major news' Joystiq is reporting, A week away from the Major Nintendo conferences in each territorie, days apart. Seems a little odd? why would they Need 3 [or is it 2?] conferences in a row? this news is just like the Wii announcement. A week before e3 Wii' s name was shown. And the Internet laughed. Now a Week before these conferences it has to be Wii news, as Ps3 has allready dropped the bomb [and europe] and Borining old 360 is old news. I suggest that each of those conferences are infact Launch celebrations in each terriorty, Sega have done this, and may be uncharacteristic of Nintendo. But everybody is allowed to have theorys. This is a Long shot, But We will know by 12pm tonight [for you Americans anyway, 5am for us.]
Change is inevitable. Except from a vending machine. Viva La Revolution! erm, I mean Viva La Wii!

ORIGINAL: Abasoufiane it says 12 eastern , that' s like 5AM GTM right ? Yep. I have to get up at 6.30am so i' ll be taking a look before i go to work. The only thing we currently know is happening tomorrow is the DMC4 countdown ending. Ugh! It' s only 10 days until uni starts again. That means classes and assignments and that sucks! The good thing is that the people who went home for the summer have started to return and hopefully i ressurect the Assemblage and make a go of it. Although i' ll probably bug some people here until they agree to help out too.

Expect to hear some kinda interesting news about a very interesting upcoming console at 12:01 a.m. EST Friday. The embargoed news was sent out to a bunch of newspapers and websites with the understanding that no one would print the information until first thing in the morning. While I' m sure you will all find it endlessly fascinating, in the end it really won' t get you any closer to the news most people want to know. Make sure to head back to Kotaku one minute into tomorrow to read the details and see a wee bit of analysis A very interesting upcoming console?! Oh and how the fuck did we all miss this... The strategy behind Nintendo and the iPod, to create a new environment based on hardware, is completely valid. But, this is impossible if you don' t have experience making hardware. This is one of the reasons Square Enix will collaborate with Taito, a company that produces physical hardware. In our talks with Taito, ideas for an actual physical product have come up. In any case, we will be releasing some ' thing.' LINKY

Well that' s what i thought when i first read it. It' s unlikely though. It' s much more likely to be about Wii.

If Square Enix make there own hardware to play games (thats the impression i got) what happens to sony? Square Enix are very very important in there plans for ps3s success, if they decide to make there own hardware, surely they will not continue to make for ps3. Otherwise it may jepordise this new hardware venture with Taito. Also is Square Enix forced to do this because of the poor launch numbers or the constant negative press sony has been recieving since there poor showing at E3 2006?
