Renting games
-
Sep 05, 2006 08:53
I am currently in Grece, and lived in the USA until two months ago, but I will soon be moving to the UK, and I was wondering if there was a service for renting games online (a la gamefly). Also I was wondering what the premiere retail outlet for videogame purchasing is in the UK (the US has EB Games for example)?

What are we a fucking 3rd world country now?! Yes you can rent games. They' re are dedicated rental stores and there are online services like Amazon. As for stores that sell games, you' ll find that the UK is actually better equipped than the US. I' ve looked for games stores every time i' ve been to the states and always had to end up driving about to multiple malls. In the UK we have shopping districts in every city, usually referred to as " high streets" . The bigger cities like London, Manchester, Liverpool etc have 1000' s of stores all accessible within a very contained area but you won' t find the smaller cities lacking either. Our biggest dedicated games stores are: * Game (previously EB Games/Electronics Boutique) * Gamestation * Chips (although they' re a smaller shop/they sell import stuff) Every region seems to have their own indy stores too. Yorkshire for example is home to the awesome Ninja Games chain. You' ll find better prices in the dedicated game stores listed above and smaller indy stores, but if you' re struggling then places like HMV, Virgin Megastores, TOYS R US, MVC etc. Every town has a HMV or Virgin Megastore and they' re usually fairly cental. Do you know exactly where you' ll be living?!

ORIGINAL: Papado I' ll be in London mate! Then you' ll be just fine. There are several HMV' s, Games and Gamestations in London. You won' t have to look very far to see a store that sells games!

Where have you been in the US where you had trouble finding a game store, the fucking Arizona dessert or something? New York alone has more videogame stores than all of europe combined.
