No offense but why are perople surprised he didn' t die any otherway?. That' s like me thinking houdini would have died sitting in a pensioners home on the toilet.

I think we all knew one of these days one of the animals would get the better of him, and I' ll be the first to admit that sometimes i was cheering on the croc and hoping he got bit.

But when it actually happens it really sucks.

Kudos to Steve for a good decade of truly entertaining antics. Rest in peace, you' ll truly be missed.

How sad. I really liked that guy. He died young too, 44 years old.
I guess this opens up a spot for someone else to become " the new Crocodile Hunter" ...

Yes its extremely sad. I really liked him too. I loved watching his shows. He is a legend. What makes it even sadder is that he leaves behind his two young children and his wife. My deepest sympathies go out to them. Steve Irwin you will be sorely missed, may you Rest In Peace.

...the guy was most definitely a total nutter, but he didn' t deserve to die in such a lame fashion (only 3 people in Australia' s entire history have ever died in such a way)

C' mon now, fellas. Everyone has the right to choose what they do with their lives and their minds. I have never touched an illicit drug in my life, and I also don' t smoke or drink, but that' s MY choice, and I don' t push that on anyone. Hopefully Bishonen will get it out of his system early on in life, and will enjoy a long and healthy existence.

Oh, and yeah, it' s sad that the Crocodile Hunter has passed away. He always entertained, that' s for sure!

Pretty much the whole of Australia is mourning him. I didn' t actually see too many of his shows, but the ones I saw I always enjoyed. It was such a freak attack. I admired his passion for his work - I' ve yet to see anyone be so determined to teach people about the importance of wildlife conservation. It' s a shame to see his life' s work cut short so quickly. You' ll be missed mate and my sympathies extend to his wife Terri and two children, Bob and Bindi.

it' s funny how I never watched his show , but I knew who he was and saw him on Jay Leno show and now he' s gone...

cnn posted the footage i think. i didn' t watch the video, but they said he removed the barb himself. it was the poison that got him.

Yeah went straight to the coroners office. Stuff like this doesnt take too long to be leaked all over the net tho. Its rather saddening tho I mean everyone knew the name whether they mocked him or admired his passion he was very well known and never let it go tois head.

Yeah, for all the flak people gave him about going out and risking his neck for these animals, in the end, he was a good guy.
