Ok, i' m over Sony' s bullshit and illusions and now that we' re 2 and a half months away from launch i' m getting that tingling sensation i get with every new console launch (or maybe it' s just the curry i ate earlier...)

Forget launch unit figures and allocations. Forget the possibility of very few launch titles. Forget that the console isn' t yet being manufactured. Forget the price. Forget the rubbish rumble-free pad. Forget Nintendo' s Wii, ...and definately forget Microsoft' s Xbox 360. Sony are launching another Playstation and with it " True HD gaming" .

There are 19 potential launch tiles:

...and should they all make launch there are 7 (nevermind which) that would definately be worth buying, but 4 of those are multi-platform games i' ll probably buy on 360.

Unless the machine is delayed again, in 10 weeks time (or there abouts) the machine will be released and if you' re lucky and manage to pre-order early on, you' ll be playing at least a couple of the games listed above.

With TGS (September 22-24) coming the gaming world will (should) get a very good idea of what the first generation of PS3 games will be like as a whole. My guess is that it' ll be super, and it' s only 3 weeks away!!!



In closing i' d like to invite you all to forgive and then promptly forget Sony' s slip-ups and childlike behaviour that we' ve been witness to in the past 12 months. The Sony Playstation 3 is coming and we need to greet it with open arms.

It may be fat. It may be ugly. It may not even be a games console first and foremost. It may cost more than a months rent. *It may even be capped. But it' s a Playstation and that' s something we can count on.

*The PSP is capped as 222MHz when the processor can actually run at 333MHz. It was capped because they were prone to overheating. PS3 could be the same. There' s nothing substantial to base it on but it' s possible.

Yay! I can' t wait for the launch! Seriously, I' m probably going to be waiting in line overnight for it at Best Buy. After 360s sold for well over $1,000 on Ebay last year I plan on doing it with the PS3. I' m sure I can make a good $400 on that console. can' t wait!

Yeah we' ll be lucky to even see a ps3 next November let alone actually get to buy one. If they' re taking pre orders I highly suggest doing so if you want one this year.

My DS has currently Owned my 360 with its ' Nintendo Magic' .. Wii wil be the same..

I will be getting a PS3... but only for VF5. and thats all. (might even build myself an cheapo VF5 32" LCD Arcad cabinate to put in my Games room, So PS3 will be hidden away and no need to be touched))

Sooo true! I was actually buying a little into the hype! but the thought of GoW and Zelda, and Mario ended all that! Why would i play PS3 games that doesnt get a Wow from me, when i can play lots of Wii titles that really Wow me

Yeah, but we haven' t heard a single thing from the developers about them. They both just kinda disappeared.

Ofcourse both games are important, Advanced Warfighter more than Fight Night but will Ubisoft release Ghost Recon right alongside Rainbow Six?!

I won' t have to. I' ll be working that night (well from midnight until about 2am) so i' ll be one of the first (because other staff members will) to pre-order and secure one of our shops allocated units and so i' ll be going home with a PS3 and hopefully take the day after off (both work and uni).

I' m really excited about the PS3 launch - but more from the observers perspective.I love the way it looks , it' s big , but looks like 600$ High-End baby (it looks better than Wii).I can' t wait to hear how those games are and how PS2 games look on it (since they said it' ll display them in HD).I' m very corious about this whole online thing too.

I wouldn' t get one for myself though, I' ll never get the first 3 models of PS system :)

As for gaming I' m more excited about Zelda and I feel tremendous FPS hunger (I love to shoot people) that only 360 can satisfy at the moment.

Those crytek guys said they can' t make their game for PS3 and 360 because they don' t support some DX10 features and are less efficient - I wish I could see their faces when they play games on PS3 or 360 2 years from now.Their silly engine will be a joke at that time.

Right now in the UK you can only " register your interest" and pre-ordering from an online store is risky as hell.

I' ll buy it when I can play MGS4 or VF5 on it.

I need at least both of them at once and then some to shell out 800$ (just to make one 360 fanboy very happy).

I wouldn' t get the launch unit for 600$ even with awesome games - it' s 600 and there' s never been a good PS model on launch.They also don' t have the best customers support - they don' t really give a fuck.

PS3 is just a box until at least spring 2007 (VF5)

I wish I could find someone to play VF5 with me , but since I couldn' t find anyone to play VF4 and this time PS3 costs 600, it will be even harder.VF is too hardcore to find good players...willing to train people that is.

They didn' t for the original Xbox launch or the GCN launch (Was there with friends for both), but the 360 launch around me was pretty tight. You told them which one you wanted (I didn' t see anyone pick Core out of preference), and then they brought back a bag with your kit in it. Then if you wanted accesories/games, you told them and they went in your bag from under the counter. You' d be hard pressed to steal anything but accesories, and even then, that would require diving across the counter, and trying to get out the door cram-packed with chubby dudes with stains on their Halo 2 shirts.

I' d never steal from a Honest Joe' s Game boutique who is trying to make a living out of his passion for games, thats wrong, But I see nothing wrong stealing from Big Multinational Faceless corporations, as it affects nobody.
