Need help to plug in my tv to 360. - Aug 18, 2006 00:32
What do i do?

I switched the siwtch behing the 360 to HD,but when i start nothing happend.
And yes my tv is hd-ready and hd-comptiable and 720p/1080i.

when i put all my cables into that scart thing it starts, but as soon as i select HD i get a blue screen saying AV.
I can hear the sound but not the video.

I had that problem aswell but it turned out that I needed the Vga cable instead of the seperated one (if that makes sense).

HD is not ready yet... Stick with widescreen monitors, they are the best..

Tiz im very unlucky man.

Listen here.

With ps3 you can do as what uou can with a 360.
However you do that with DVI over VGA,DVI is better.
My LCDTV hasn' t a fucking VGA,but a DVI.
Now HDMI/DVI is good for me with blu-ray and ps3,but fucking noooo

Majik,i have no screen on my 360.
Why?
Cause when i have HD on,i have nothing that is really HD on,becauise my cables arnt enough.
You need 5 cables to put in,my TV only has 3 slots.

And you need a VGA connector for the HD if you wanna go with like the PC way to get HD.
And MY LCD TV has DVI instead.

Yea but three (I think red, green blue) of them is for the picture and two for the sound (yellow, red) if you have the three a picture should come up just not with sound.

I use to play my 360 on the plasma in the living room and that was dvi and worked ok. The problem i' m having with the lcd one it' s connected to is I have no sound even though the wires are connected right....

Ginjouro Yes and no.

My tv is perfect for HD movies/sports.
And future hd-dvd or blu-ray or a ps3.
However i read this.

19. Is there any way to play Xbox 360 games through a large HD screen (Apple) which only has a DVI connector? I heard Microsoft may release a DVI cable. Will this be ready for launch?

Since there is no Xbox 360 cable with DVI or HDMI output, you’ll need a VGA to DVI adapter if you want to connect via a DVI input.

That VGA to advi adapter+the 360 vga cable can i buy for around 50 dollar.
Might order that now.
Sucks to pay 50 USD extra... but

What did it cost for you,and which did you buy?

really any vgs/dvi should work with 360, as with anything else. Never had to do it before, but i do find it odd your HDTV doesn' t have component, i would have thought they all had it.

It has,but only for 3 slots.
And it came with a Dvi component that can be put into cameras with a blu-green and some other color thing.

It' s just hilarious man :)

How do you buy your equipment man? You didn' t even check if it will work with 360?

O M G

It' s not that bad since you can get this DVI adapter , but it' s so utterly dumb of you to get it without even checking...

I don' t mean to laugh at you though - it just amazing how some people do shopping.

I agreee, I almost always check out my products before I buy them.

It has,but only for 3 slots.

I don' t get you... Component is 5 slots, (green, blue, red for video + white and red for audio)... RCA/composite (or something) is 3 consisting of yellow for video, red and white for audio.
So when you say you only have 3 are you sure it' s component? or maybe you mean you have 3 component in' s and they are all used?

Just an example incase.. It' s the back of my hdtv, the component and rca/composite connection

If you hav only 3 component then your tv maybe hd-comptiable or Hd Ready ( trust me i love tv

You may have to buy an hd card so you can have those hd cocomponent but if you have tonly 3 then you indeed have an hd-comptiable tv

If you dont mind what kind of tv do you have

But good luck my man i know mine has 2 hdmi 1. something ( i think 1.3 ) and hd component i got that sxrd tv and man it rocks

HD " Compatible" or HD-" Ready" ?

Some televisions are digital and HD-ready, which means that you can add a tuner to the television at some later date in order to receive HD signals. These sets are generally called HD-compatible or HD-ready and are somewhat less expensive than a HDTV. However be aware that not all TVs being promoted as “HD-compatible” are truly capable of displaying HD signals. If the television display is not true HD the signal must be downgraded for an image to be displayed. This difference needs to be understood before purchasing an HDTV in order for a consumer’s expectations to be met.

The x360 component set has 5 cables because TWO OF THEM ARE FOR AUDIO you dumb fuck. Just plug in the red, blue, and green cables onto the back and you will be fine - DONT PLUG IN THE RED AND WHITE CABLES those are for AUDIO you dumb shit. Plug that shit into your speakers or wherever the fuck your audio is coming out of.

Anyhow, I have like 5 VGA/DVI converters laying around, all of them I' ve gotten free inside video cards or motherboards, theyre probably not worth more than like $3.00

Evil man be quiet.
I have only 3 output on the back, and these colors are red, white and yellow.
2 of them are for audio, one for video.

Silent what do you think about this one?

Btw in my tv manual it says you can plug in this tv to a analog pc.
But you need a Dvi-Vga adapter and then put in the vga cable into the adapter.

Does that mean my Dvi is a dvi-i or wtf its called.

So yeah you don' t have component, but composite/rca (Which most tv' s have).

As for the adapter, it' s basically the one I have, should be fine, so long as the pins are right (m/f whichever you need if it varies on the vga side)

The connector you got with the red, blue, and green holes. Is it like a scart adapter the ps2/xbox has aside from the colour? I mean, have you tried plugging the red, blue and green cables from your xbox into the connector? Really that should work, unless your xbox doesn' t have them?

as for the xbox vga hd cable... it should really be fine, i imagine the xbox cable has male vga and the connector a female, so it' d work fine.

What is the make and model of your TV?

Also that VGA HD Cable that one am i getting,i have a TFT that support VGA/DVI.

Well most of them say the adapter will work, like the one you showed me. I don' t know about the 360 in your country, but in uk, (at least my friend' s one) had a component cable with a scart adapter, so it had the 5 connectors which was fine for my tv.

In anycase you' ll be fine with an adapter
