....wise-ones at kikizo... ....what happened to my four-star " Senior Member" Status?..... ....i see that this new format is universal, but why have i been pulled back to only three stars?.....

....i was quite proud of my four stars you know... ...especially as i think " senior Member" looks better than " winner march 2004" .... ...it even helped curb my " unusual" approach somewhat... ...now being just a " level three" makes me less likely to act like a senior member.... ...don' t you think?...

...so what gives anyway?......

Firstly we did away with the crappy old definitions like " n00b" and so forth. Firstly each was indistinct and hard to tell the meaning of relative to the other words so numbered levesls are nicer.

Second, we change the goalposts of how many posts equal a cerain level, as we do from time to time as everything grows and people get more posts. It doesn' t mean anyone has been downgraded and it keeps things interesting on the posts side. As for what the new goalpost numbers are, we' ll leave you to work that out over time! :)

....ok... ...i can understand the reasoning... ....but isn' t it a little plain?....

...i dunno....

....maybe there should be little descriptions of the members or something.... like you sometimes get at other sites... ....you know, little comments like " gaming guru" or " wise one" ...

....something to make things a little less vanilla?.....

people always get upset when forums change, especially when its to do with their ' rep' . At least you don' t have to worry about a karma function that some boards have where people can politically smite or applaud each other!!

I would like the grades they use in some japanese martial arts like
9th to 1st Kyu
followed by 1st to 8th Dan.
When you have the last 8th Dan grade you' ll get the extra " sennin" title .

All the better, and it gives people with a lot of posts something to aim for. Some of you on this site has an obscene amount of posts. As it stands there is little motivation to go from level 3 to 4 or something.

Since everyone things ' Level X' is shit, please consider it temporary. Please keep suggestions coming and we' ll settle on something else at a later date. I liked the dan/kyu idea. Anything else...

dan/kyu idea is the best idea i have heard... go with it. lots of level to go up then too.

For example.

0-100 posts = A Terry Bogard [nobody listens to and generaly just irgonres]

then 100 - 200 = A Kickass [known, but not for his intelligance...]
