TGS 06

So I just thought I' d post up this info from the-magicbox.com

CESA has released some details of the upcoming Tokyo Game Show on September 22 - 24, 2006, there are 93 companies signed up for the show, and 323 products will be exhibited. The list is still incomplete at this time, as there will be additional new / surprise game products at the show. Nintendo will not be participating the Tokyo Game Show as usual.



I know it' s early days yet, but only 5 announced games showing up at TGS for PS3, where 360 has 7?

In anycase I hope TGS is one kick ass show, and I for one can' t wait... Make this the place for all things TGS leading up to it, at least.

Hopes that 1 of those seven is a certain F.R.E.E game..oh and alan wake.

I hope all the 83 games for the " other" consoles are Wii games.

7 DS titles and 1 Gamecube title has to mean something though...

I forgot about it to be honest. That said with e3' s reconditioning how will nintendo expand on exposure.

Don' t they have spaceworld? or didn' t they? Where they showed of that fantastic zelda footage, which was probably the biggest disappointment then seeing " Celda" but at least TP looks as good i suppose.. (Never liked Zelda for some odd reason, but liked what i saw graphically on the tech demo... maybe one day i will learn to like Zelda..)

Uumai you make me sad...how can you not like zelda?... i' m just kidding ya. Yea you' re right about spaceworld but they don' t hold it as regular like tgs or e3. Saying that I think it may be time (like majic suggested) that the bigger companies just do their own shows that way they' re not bumping shoulder to shoulder and have that much more attention.

Lol I can imagine ....didn' t halo do well in japan at the time even though they don' t like fps, might be similar with gears but hope that they like it though.

Halo couldn' t have possibly come close to doing well in Japan since the Xbox userbase was MISERABLLY small there.

TGS2005 was a huge Wii Event - Iwata had a keynote and the Wiimote was first shown.

I don' t know if they will take part in 06 but I would expect them to.

It' s been rumoured for some time now that Nintendo might do the Apple trick.By that I mean releasing Wii a few days after anounncing price and date (don' t you just love those apple keynotes when they talk about amazing new technology and say:" oh and you can buy it tomorrow in yor local store" ?).

Sinbe october 2nd is the rumoured launch date I would expect them to make something like Spaceworld anyway :)

I believed Nintendo wouldn' t be making an appearance themselves, and apparently no space world either. So you' d think all sony, but the few games currently to be shown for the format is a little disappointing.

It' s the only gaming device that the N-Gage could actually compete against in Japan, THAT' s how small .

Just about every Xbox game sold like $hitte in Japan.

the 360' s alone are retailing for something like $350 us. That' s the premium pack. Hopefully Microsoft can pull something new and innovative out it' s butt, and market it to the japaneese, cause otherwise, methinks they' re going to fall into an even bigger rut in the East.

they have problems in Europe as well - 1,3 mln units sold to date - that' s low.

The only area that is succesful is the US.(check the article in my thread about interesting take on the next gen war)

9 360 games and you would say yeah that' s about right for Microsoft in tgs but this is a fiasco for sony, let me GUESS those games,

there are so much more games that should be shown , because they missed this e3, so what the hell is going on ??

I think some of those might be as of now unseen projects...at least I hope because the cluster of good games thats gonna happen soon on both whilst good worries me.

Well i hope to see a damn sight more PS3 games come TGS, 15 games at least, i' d hope all in all...

Surely MGS 4 is one of the 5, probably some sony games... I hope to see Lair, Heavenly Sword, DMC 4, and a whole host of new things.

I should think heavenly sword sould be there in some form considereing how long they have been working on it....but you never know I guess and dmc4.

I' d say heavenly sword is a sure thing, i only mention it because i wanna see more of it. How it is progressing, if they will show off any of the larger battles and such...
Would like to see that ' untitled naughtydog game' too, the one from E306 with the jungle and the nice looking animation.
Would be great for team ICO to announce something, even if they show nothing, just to let people klnow they are doing something great with the system.

it did, visually like the untitled naughty dog game... which has been said was " ingame engine" so i must assume that 8 days was too, especially as a couple of the tech demos for ps3 was taken from the game. (gas station explosion and the car taking bullet damage) Yeah i was thinking to mention that game but i didn' t think we' d see more of it yet.

Well then you' d be surprized to learn a new MGS4 trailer has been confirmed for the Lisbrig games con at the END OF THE MONTH! yes, augest. its on around the 22 to 24 and I am looking forward to it!

actually no, I wouldn' t but thanks for the info. Actually haven' t been interested in MGS series, and 4 is nomore interesting to me than a demonstration of some of the power of ps3 in good hands some years down the line

Pro evolution will be shown (the 360 version) in Leipzing game convenction in august.That' s where the new MGS4 trailer is supposed to debut and Wii will be playable.

TGS is a place of surprises so don' t expect companies to give them all away before the show.

I hope we' ll see the PS3 version of VF5 and hopefully with no downgrades ...(please ...please)

I really hope the ps3 version of vf5 isn' t as stiff as the arcade one. And I would like to know how much the games are gonna cost. Gangsta isn' t wii unlisted for showing up at tgs?.
