What brought you to Kikizo?
-
Jul 31, 2006 08:45
So tell us your life story untill the point where you joined Kikzio Forums. Why did you Join? was it the great comoummity? the Fantastic Topics? ...or the free games? Did you visit kikizo much before going into the forums? but most importantly. For such a big site, a forum which gives away free games, has no mods [apart from adam] how come it isnt plauged by newbies? I think thats one of the worlds biggest mysteries!

For such a big site, a forum which gives away free games, has no mods [apart from adam] how come it isnt plauged by newbies? That is a question for the ages, I think it has something to do with the supernatural... maybe an alien or two... perhaps devine intervention. Why am I here... I used to lurk over at another video game site that will remain nameless. I never posted because it was too vicious. Then someone posted a thread saying that Kikizo.com was giving away free games for posters. So I joined (as you can see by my join date that was a long time ago). It was very quiet here, and an enviornment where i felt comfortable. The rest is history.

The ability to keep up with topics and not having to deal with as many arrogant posters on a daily basis. Prior to this I only occasionally posted on other forums. How I found Kikizo was thru some trailers on Gamtrailers.com. Even after winning the game I didnt just dissappear, that was what like a year or 2 ago now? This is one of the only sites to have a real ' forum community' .

Well one day I was born and then I grew up. After that I was surfing for porn on the internets and saw pictures of Rikka. I decided to enter into stalker mode because that seemed like a fun, good-natured thing to do. I tracked her down to Kikizo to continue my stalking. Unfortunately along with my arrival came a million fans, ruining the site.

It was E3 2003 I think and I was looking for news on Sonic Heroes. I had a friend who visited the site but not the forum who pointed me in this direction. I had a look and was amazed by the quality of the videos. It was a no brainier to join the forum as it seemed full of likeminded people. I continue to post because it' s still a great place to chat and have fun.

Who me? Well, I' m just a real big forum whore. I currently have 5 forums up(including this one). It was partly for the forum, and partly for the idea of getting a free game. I do know I won' t ever win it, but it' s the fact that you actually have to try and earn the games, rather than just enter some stupid prize draw, that has gotten my attention. Kikizo' s new slogan should be: Join for the free stuff, STAY for the community!

I was in a strip bar in Thailand and the girl on stage was demonstrating this awesome thing she could do with a banana. I was really hungry so... ...no, wait. That' s how I got herpes. I found this forum after Gamerweb died. I used to have a different name, then I stopped visiting completely for a while. I decided to come back with a clean slate, new name and all. B4 Gamerweb was Dailyradar. I stay because I like small community forums. People tend to respect each other more.

I' ve spent about 18 years fighting the world without rest when I decided to take a break... I stubbled here accidently, thinking this was an Asian porn site.

ORIGINAL: Vx Chemical Rampage99 brought me to Kikizo, not personally though, but i was surfing the web for PS3, 360 discussions, and a found one on Kikizo, and most people here, really knew what they were talking about, especially Rampage! Much thanks my friend. Ah... what brought me to Kikizo... well I think I got an email from Adam after GW went down. I think he sent it to all the people that were registered at GW. I ended up popping in, hung out for a while, and even started writing for the site. Since then I' ve been in and out of the forums due to my rather " eventful" life. I feel really bad about not being around since E3. I still owe Adam several articles which I' m rewriting now because I lost all of it with a computer crash that happened shortly after E3. Since then I' ve gotten into a car accident which nearly totaled my car(still in the process of getting repaired), got ripped off by my insurance company who are refusing to pay for my accident and I now am having to take them to court, my mom went through another surgery, and my previous roomate moved out on me and left no money for rent leaving me with some major bills that nearly wiped me out. I have to take that guy to court now too. So yeah... I guess that pretty much explains my most recent absence. Funny thing is even with all this stuff happening I' m in a good mood and really don' t care. So how' s everyone been?

I used to help GamerWeb out during E3 time, then Adam eventually launched Kikizo, I wanted to do my part to help get it off the ground so I wrote some reviews and previews, helped cover E3, and eventually started hanging out in the forums.

Thanks. The problems are slowly working themselves out. I' m just finally come to the realization that I can' t control life so I' ve started to just accept it. It' s really helped me with reducing stress. I' ve finally gotten rid of my nervous twitch (stress induced) and am actually able to sleep through the night. So even though all this crap has happened it' s not really phasing me.

The thing you said about life kinda remind me of what gamejunkie was saying a while back. I wouldn' t understand about the stress thing cos I think my stupidity makes me immune and a bit oblivious sometimes. But it can get bad when it does hit though (the stress thing) so at least you' re learning to deal with that side of things. Again it' s nice to see you back and good to hear things are beggining to pick up.

Thanks for the offer man. I just finished up writing my hands on playtest and behind closed doors screening of Too Human before I left for class (Which I am in now. Character rigging for games, yay...). I have to write up stuff for Bioshock and Mass effect next which are both behind closed doors stuff as well. I think the other articles I was supposed to write are on games that have already been released so I don' t think there is any point in writing previews for them. I feel like such an ass for not getting these done earlier. I think I' m on top of it now though.

I was brought to Kikizo by googling " Shenmue 3" ... How funny is that? At the time, it picked up the Kikizo coverage that they did with Yu.. Then I just read the site for a year, then decided to join.. I wish I could say: " One day, St. Jude spoke to me and bang! I was on Kikizo!"

Once upon a time I was going to buy a game at a store called Webhallen (a couple of years ago) so I visited their website to check the latest prices. I noticed that they had game trailers for most games so I watched some of them. Half of the videos were from gametrailers.com and the rest were from, that' s right, Kikizo. You could tell since every video had the Kikizo logo. I decided to visit Kikizo and it turned out to be a great place to get high quality video and interesting news from. I also noticed that the forum was at a brighter level than every other videogame forum out there so I frequently read everything from the shadows. The I joined and ruined the whole community . THE END

I came here somehow looking for some news and one day I' ve decided that I' ll start using forums again (and I hated that - people not knowing much yet still talking about it) - it wasn' t so bad here and I stayed since then... The funny thing is - I only use forum here - I don' t visit kikizo site at all -I guess I won' t be a forum winner anytime soon :) LOL

It' s my brothers fault. It all starts about a year ago. I was just another mindless internet half user. You know, the kind of people that can get their entire weeks internet fix out of 10 minutes of hitting random on Wikipedia. One day, I noticed that my brother was on one of those " Message Board" things. It was, of course, Kikizo. At this point in my life, i had no idea that the people on the internet were anything more than slobbering accronym monkeys, who had nothing better to say than OMGOMGOMFGLMMAOIAMT3HP1CKL33@73R!!!!!!!I4MT3HL1K3R0FP1CKL3ZZ!!!!! But I digress, anyway my brothe was posting on one of the topics here when a single phrase caught my eye, " Free Games in the Kikizo Forum" . Something inside me snapped. I suddenly realized that anyone that gives away free games had to have at least enough sense to fill a thimble, and sure enough I was right. In fact I found they could fill entire warehouses of thimbles compared to the unwashed digital masses on *up, and g***faqs, and g***spot, (names withheld at subject' s request). Ever since then, I' ve been open to the full wonder and majesty of the internet, and one of the keepers of a mighty secret, the knowledge of the last intelligent gaming forum on the internet. FIN

Me. Anyways, I think I' d been on the site a few times before, and had noticed that it had a really relaxing layout. (weird I know) It wasn' t completely devoted on slamming as many things in your face as possible. Soon after E3 05 I was looking for the " Ingame" Killzone video, did a video search, and pulled up Kikizo. I made a mental note to hit the site when I got home. I got home, and promptly forgot about the whole site for about five months. In january, I was on the PC, and remembered a site name, I just couldn' t remember what it was for. So on the hopes that it wasn' t something horribly innapropriate, I pulled it up, and remembered the awesome site I had seen a while back, It was interesting to me, that the forum posters I had seen a few months back were all still on the site, so I joined.

It was before the launch of the 360 that I found this site on google while I was looking for 360 information. I really didn' t like forms, but I read the ones here and it was funny/informationlly filled. So, I read the forms til July... Then in July I was kind of bored and I was all " Why not" signed up and then I saw that I could win a free game...so...now I have a place to read stuff and possibly win a game someday....
