Current Gen CLassics.

Now that this current gen of consoles is soon coming to an end [ps2,xbox,Gamecube] in a few months with the realse of the ps3 and wii. What do you consider the Classics of that gen, like ps1/n64-gen had FF7, Mgs1, Zelda:oot.

What does this gen have? do you think it was better or worse than last gen? and what do you think of the next gen?

Hey, I loved it and I played it. Hell, I was waiting for it from the day I found out who was making it.

As for Final Fantasy, nothing beyond 7 should be considered a classic IMO, and that' s only because it introduced 3D to the series. If you' re going to start calling them classics, just say FF series. They' re all the same anyway.

Panzer Dragoon Orta (classic as Team Andromeda' s/Smilebit best PD [rail shooter, PD Saga is an RPG and absolutely fantastic] and amazing game that once more fails simply because they chose the weaker console...again)

Splinter Cell- re-imagined stealth action(shadows opposed to boxes)
Shadow of the Collosus- Post-Modern and artsy
Katamari Damacy- sheer originality and quirk factor
Ico- helped to re-vitalize platform genre
Resident Evil: 4 - Overpowering awesomeness
MGS 3: Subsistence - What every special edition should be like
Halo - Solid plot + massive grossings + popular online = technical classic
Riiiiidge Racer- Kaz forced me to put this on at gunpoint

Killzone? A classic? Heck if we' re going that low I may as well put my vote in for Daikatana!

Other than that, what everyone else has said pretty much mirrors my opinion too.

Fifa 06 I think might be the best and most fun soccer game ever made.

Also, Killzone does not belong. Definitely not the halo killer it was supposed to be.
