i want to here about craxy plans to get ps3 money. mine is simple get a job, sell my ps2 on ebay, and drink lots of soda and then cash in the cans.

You might need to tweak your plan a bit Blackdraon306. I' ve got a similar plan, only it involves selling many ps2' s. At any rate, a brand new slim ps2 only fetches a fair amount of money, nothing over 120, not after Sony dropped the price on the slim. I doubt yours is new in packaging, seeing as most people play the consoles they buy.

If it' s an older model, and used, don' t expect much. If you' ve just got a controller and cords, expect $50-70, if you' ve got a few good (or at least new) games, you can usually fetch $80-90. I' ve never had a sale that went over $120, so I hope your job pays well. And as for cans, how much does your area give back in return? cause $400 or so dollars in cans... that' s some serious drinking.

While i will hate to miss a console launch (it' ll be my first since the Saturn), Gangsta and myself definately have the " right" idea. While i AM glad i bought my 360 at launch, i foresee lots of technical problems and unit shortages for Sony.

I' ll be waiting until Heavenly Sword, VF5 (unless the 360 version is announced before the PS3' s release) and DMC4 are out before i buy one.

You' re not serious.

You may buy one and sell it for a profit (because there will be insane demand and not enough units to go around), and then buy a cheap HDTV and another unit for yourself with the money you made when the machine is freely available. That' s wise. Wise if you don' t mind ripping people off, but since it doesn' t bother me and i KNOW it wouldn' t bother you (because the person buying it an an inflated price is a moron) then more power to ya buddy.

Very little. PS2' s don' t fetch much anywhere these days (thank Sony for reducing manufacturing costs and driving the prices of NEW hardware down).

That' s been my plan since E3 05. Back when i thought the Killzone trailer could' ve been legit. By the time I learned the truth, i was a few hundred dollars in, and had already commited.

So about your crazy ps2 scheme. I' ve been selling them on ebay for the ps3, so if i can get specifics, i could figure some kind of estimate for ya...

First off, have you sold anything on ebay before?

Are they first-party controllers?

Any damage to the controllers?

What kind of cosmetic damage, if any to the PS2? Rubber/plastic footies removed, expansion bay cover missing, little sony decal removed from tray, stuff like that. (People don' t want to buy an incomplete unit. Not when they can get a complete one for the same price)

Is it a slim, or an original ps2?

Has it been opened (warrantee seal broken)

Did it come from a smoking or non-smoking home?

I' ve sold all those games except Triple Play, and sports titles add little more than a few bucks to the auction, so methinks you won' t add more than $15 dollars to your auction. (not much, I know) Best of luck to ya though.

Ebay tip:

When selling things, all ways attach pointless little dongles or whatever to the bid, you dont know how much people will bid on your auction for some cheap crap, it dosent have to be cheap, a extra memory card, or controller allways make the bidding higher.

i have not sold anything on ebay my self, i use my mom' s account. i have one original controller and 2 light up pelican controllers. one the light up controller has part of the grip coming off. there is a screw that hangs out of the system. i was fixing it and i put the screw in the wrong place so now it hangs. its an original ps2.
i think it is. non-smoking home, very loved. i have a extra 16mb memoery card.
doesnt like to read alot of different games.

Silent Bomber, I think I' ll do the same. I' m going to go out and buy a ps3 for the sole purpose of selling in on Ebay. I remember how pissed I was Nov. 22nd, and weeks after when i saw so many 360' s sell on Ebay, some for over $4 000.

Its crazy, if people are stupid enough to pay ten times what its worth just to get it now then I want to be the guy to sell it to them. Fuck now I have a reason to be excited about the ps3. Hell I might even try and sell them the bran new ps3 box.

The shortage for ps3 will be five times worse then 360. Even considering the price tag of the ps3 Sony will never be able to reach its manufacturing goals. I' m positive they lied about manufacturing goals first of all.

I bet I could make more money selling PS3' s then I managed to save working for two years without any billes to pay.
