it was YK that inspired me to start writing tunes over 14 years ago... fair play to all that seek to emulate or be inspired by him... perhaps we can work on some projects!

Yuzo Koshiro is such a hero. Streets of Rage 2 was by far my favourite game soundtrack of all time, and inspired some of my own music too. (Mine' s mostly rubbish though!)

Those are some pretty funky remixes too. Nice work! Mind if I stick some of those on my MD player?

What are you using to make those btw, if you don' t mind me asking?

streets of rage 1 and 2 are one of my all time favorites

i wish i could make game music like him

i still play streets of rage 1 just to listen to the sound track

Yuzo was definitely one of my inspirations for getting into music composition:)

he didnt do much stuff with shenmue compared to some other composers, but what he did do was fantasic.

Fair play his company lets you download a fair whack of ingame music.

So who here writes music as well as me?

What setups do you have?

Korg Triton extreme, few rackmounts, elderly s3000, & my gaming rig for cubase!

perhaps we can post up some of our work?

True, others wrote more but I liked his input there too.

And I write music but nothing keyboard based. I play in a band and play some solo guitar stuff on my own.

I used to mess around with various trackers, but I' m not really as active as I used to be. It was really just for my own enjoyment, and a few friends, heh. None of my stuff ever sounded complete or professional enough to show off, but I liked it.

Some of the stuff that comes out of the demoscene is really great though.

I absolutely LOVED that tune from the next-gen Sonic trailer. I recorded it into an MP3 a few weeks ago.

There' s one track in Shenmue that has a distinctive Yuzo flavor to it, it' s one of my favorite tracks in the game. It' s the music that plays when Ryo is borrowing his friend' s motorcyle. He rings the bell and wait for his friend to answer, the music kicks in and is just Sweeeeeeet....

So who here writes music as well as me?

I' ve been doing it off and on for quite a while now, focusing mostly on video game arrangements followed by original stuff.

What setups do you have?

Hardware: Korg X5, Korg X5DR, Korg M3R
Software: Korg Legacy Collection, Edirol Orchestra, Cakewalk Sonar 3

perhaps we can post up some of our work?

Sounds interesting.. I won' t get back into doing any music work until after I rebuild my laptop in the coming month.

Or my willy is bigger than yours 360 vs PS3 discussions..

This thread title should change to in-game music or
music from games.. I don' t think:

Yuzo Koshiro is really gonna keep this thread alive, he sounds like a chef
to randomn people...

This is a good thread because I LOVE gaming music above any other mainstream
turds out there..

Ditto!

So far my portable music player has about 4000 anime and game music soundtracks ripped to it, nothing else!
