Did Sony announce that it would have linux pre installed on the hard drives?
and isn' t there a Mame for Linux?
I was just curious, if so that would be awesome!! I would totally sit my ass on the coach and play Simpsons arcade all day.

they did announce there would be linux on the ps3.
But it would be sony' s brand of linux, and all software would have to be developed for the cell chip, and the technical documentation is not GPL, so MAME won' t happen for some time for the ps3..

then again, you could go down to a pawnshop and pick up an old xbox and get it on live.
There are tons of arcade games already available for it, and mamae already runs smoothly on it.
