Looks like its coming to the 360 after all, so with this GTA4 and Alan Wake being exclusive not to mention all the other exclusives to 360, I' m starting to think that the ps3 won' t stand much of a chance against the white ' Box. Damn I' m so glad I bought a 360.

I guess that' s cool. I' m definetly getting the PC version, since I make maps and mods. Probably won' t get the xbox 360 version unless you can make maps or mods for it as well then I could make them for that.

GTA4 is not an exclusive. He lied in the microsoft press conference . The only thing microsoft managed to do was pay Rockstar a shit ton of money so that GTA4 would release the same day as the PS3 instead of several months later on (aka all other GTA games).

It will most likely be released on multiple disk which will be a pain in the ass for 360 owners to switch out cds. I believe this because with the over 50 gigs of space on the blu ray I imagine rockstar will make a massive world (not to mention the fact San Andreas is already filled to the brim on the dual layer dvd format)

those screens also have been out for several months and as of 5/10/06 on gamespot.com in one of their interviews

http://www.gamespot.com/e3/e3live.aspx

its on the 12 p.m. streaming video, where they interview Steve Polge UT 2007
producer, the question came up about if its is coming to 360 and he said that as of now it is only for PS3 and PC and that they were focusing on those two entries before anything else.

So in a nutshell it is not coming to 360.

360 being good at cross platforming from PC to 360 in my opinion it will eventually come to 360, but for now it is not official.

Whats with the tripple posting? something called edit?. Anyway I think gt4 might as well be exclusive seeing as this contract with rockstar also sees exclusive content that directly relates to the game is going to be on xbl, so obviously i' d be getting the 360 version.

that is not true, GTA san andreas as any other GTA so far are just released on single layer dvd.

UT 2007 for the 360... wow, M$ is serious in regards to thwarting Sony exclusivity. In regards with console versus console of the orthodox type, that is a good move. M$ just better not overpay for lesser titles.

Guys read my post carefully I know its awkwardly worded (it was way really late) but I never said any game other then Alan wake is exclusive, I mearly said UT 2007 is also heading for 360. I should have put a comma after " and with gta4" .

Don' t fall for these marketing games that publishers play, Sony may very well have a temporary exclusivity deal just as they did with the GTA series for ps2.

But yeah, I' m really loving my 360, have you guys seen the new Mass Effect screens?

Vx Chemical ,

Note that I said " most likely" I never said it would be it was only a prediction and I think most would agree that Rockstar would be using improved graphics which require more space and if they want to pursue as massive of a world as San
Andreas (which it is a fact that it was filled to the brim) it would need to seek more space than a standard dual layer dvd (hence my theory of multiple disks). In a Game Informer Article a couple months back it stated word for word " One highly anticipated game (360) is being planned to be released on 4 disks" . Compression can only go so far my friend and you can pull the Saints Row card being released on a single disk but it is said to be not as large as San Andreas as shown in the Game informer review over the game which included a map.

sorry but I don' t think my theory is an unreasonable one.
I AM NOT SAYING IT IS OFFICIAL AT ALL.
I just think it is a good discussion and if you can give me one reason why it is not a reasonable assumption I would like to hear it.

Game Junkie,

My bad should have read it a little closer. The Mass Effect Screens are awesome.

Dasher232,

I hear you on the edit button, won' t clutter the place up with multiple posts anymore.

c*dub please believe me, the articlke you showed me was a preview, the game was not even released at the time of the article so things sure changed or IGN got it wrong, i have GTA san andreas burned for PC and PS2 and it' s on a single layer dvd for god sake, and it doesn' t lack anything, all voices and music everythings is right there... just go to torrent sites and seek GTA san andrease and pay attention to the size ... it' s 4.19 GB. that' s less than 4.7 GB which is the maximum os a single layer dvd...

anyway i' m saying san andreas ps2 is right here on my desk and it' s on a single layer dvd. i think the stuff that really take space are CG' s .

I' ll take your word for it, my buddy and I were discussing this and we both could have sworn it was dual my bad, sorry for posting a pre san andreas site. I suppose the fact it is a normal dvd is enough to throw my theory in the shitter. Thanks for setting it straight Abasoufiane.

What do yall think on the subject? Do you think Rockstar will keep it under 9 gigs for the 360 and leave 40 somthing gigs free on the ps3 three or do you think they might do some mutiple disks?

I would like to know yalls opinion on this.

They could always give exclusive content to ps3 on the disc being it' s so large, where as 360 will get different content exclusive over live.

It' s a slim possibility, but i wouldn' t doubt it... but who cares about GTA anyway?

As for UT2007, all sites ive seen still list it as pc and ps3 only. But as far as i can see assassins creed is still ps3 exclusive, yet M$ announced it for their system if i remember correctly.

Either way the B*ards still got alan wake... that broke my heart.

I think rockstar will take the 360 into consideration, plus I honestly don' t think it will take up so much space if so it might do multiple discs.

Nicely putuumai, I agree with everything you said.

To answer your question: I care about GTA

lets hope it doesn' t come on multiple disks that would suck! and it probably isn' t a strong selling point for rockstar if they offer free roaming gameplay but when you want to go to another area you have to switch out disks. i don' t even want to imagine

I doubt GTA4 will need multiple discs, at this point in time I' d say for a standard game DL dvd is enough.
In time this may well change, but at this point, the extra space afforded by blu-ray is just good for lots of HD CG, and plenty of extra stuff without concerns of space limitations.

C Dub you are a straight up idiot. First off you can' t even read the first post to realize he said GTA is not an exclusive to PS3, and that is what they said at the Microsoft press conference.

And GTA taking up a whole disc LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!

No one appreciates morons like you.

Sorry, already apologized for my many errors in reading the post incorrectly.

getting back to the main topic UT 2007 for 360 is not official, but I hope it does come to 360. I would definately prefer playing FPS with real triggers not just raised R2 L2.

I' m still not completely sold on the idea of a next gen format (either Blu-Ray or HD-DVD) for games.

When you think about it, sure you can fit all these amazing high resolution textures and large assets on the disc. But remember you still need the resources to get these assets processed. For example:

Higher resolution textures are great IF you have the RAM to store them. High resolution textures will fill up RAM extremely fast because obviously they' re a larger size. If you can' t fit the high resolution textures required to render a scene in the 512MB available - then what is the point? Same goes for CPU and GPU processing. What good is all of this extra space if you can' t process what' s stored on it?

It was inevitable that UT2007 would be on PS3 and X360. Unreal Championship/Unreal championship 2 were both on Xbox and fairly successful too.

your points on RAM, CPU, GPU are very true. I can' t imagine a game filling the 54 gig blu ray anyway, that would just be insane.
