Ok, so i forgot to import it...

Erm, ...it' s good then?

Ooooh, and does it play better with the D-Pad cover you got with SF3?

Is it a new game or is it just another port of an ancient one?

It' s basically a retro collection. containing seemingly arcade perfect ports of the original Gradius, Gradius II: Gofer, Gradius III, Gradius IV, and the PSX-exclusive, Gradius Gaiden.

They' re exact replicas of their original versions, nothing new here but regardless, oh hell yeah it' s good!! F' it, it' s GREAT to have sooo much Gradius goodness on a single UMD for on the go twitch gaming! My ONLY complaint would be that they included the arcade Gradius III instead of the much superior SNES version. Heck, I' m sure they could have easily included both, but given a choice, the SNES version by FAR!!

Definitely. MUCH smoother control, although the analog nub support was a godsend (one that I was literally praying for) and that controls much better than the d-pad (Capcom d-pad cover included)..

depends on what you like I' d say - Gradius 5 for PS2 looks almost like ikaruga (but not quite as good).

The game itself is horizontal. That means it will fill the whole screen - it is an advantage I' d say:)

I like Ikaruga more - that' s the best shmup I' ve ever played (I haven' t played Radiant Silvergun :( )

There are some gameplay differences that you should check yourself to see what suits you better.

While I LOVED Ikaruga, I love the Gradius series more. I' m a bigger fan of horizontal scrolling shooters than I am vertically scrolling shooters. As for how the Gradius games compare, in all fairness -

Gradius, Gradius II, Gradius Galaxies, Gradius 3 Arcade, and Gradius IV DO NOT compare to Ikaruga. Ikaruga is better..

Gradius III for the SNES which was way better than the arcade version, Gradius Gaiden, and Gradius V compare nicely and I like them a little more. The Gradius III SNES soundtrack destroys the music of Ikaruga as well as destroys the music of the other Gradius games.

Maybe I' ll try it anyways, scrollers are always a good time. For Ikaruga we connected my dreamcast to my roomates 32 inch widescreen LCD HDTV with the VGA adapter. Then we set the options to tallscreen and set the TV on its side. That is how to play Ikaruga .

Must' ve been sweet - I heard that it can damage your TV (and most games warn you about it) , but I sure would love to play it like that :)
