You could just use a PS2 controller...

That' s not mine. I have got an adapter somewhere but at the moment i' m using a wired 360 pad for use wth my PC and wireless ones for my 360 itself.

I hated the PS2 controller when I played RE4 on PS2. Are there any GC adapters?

Several. They' re available at lik-sang.com and amazon.com amongst others. You should be able to get them in your local EB but online is your best bet.

The Gamecube one looks to be completely configurable! Yay!

This product is located here at lik-sang..

Buy a xbox360 controller?
Even if you dont gonna get a 360,the controller itself is great for pc games.

i gotta agree with quezcatol on that one, the 360 controllers are darn comfortable. and near identical with the number of buttons on present gen consoles.
so i' ve got a question for everyone who played the re4 ps2 port, were the visuals any better. because in my opinion, the zombies and leon' s character models in the GC version were bridging the gap to next gen.

The visuals in RE4 for PS2 aren' t as good as for the GC but the differences are small so you will probably not think of it when you play the game.
The PS2 controller feels terrible after playing with the GC controller though.

The Gamecube version was definately a step towards next gen!

I have both versions and the Gamecube version is definetely superior..

Gamecube

Playstation 2

Either way, the PS2 version is definately worth having if only just for the additional content!

The Mercenaries mode is utterly addictive!!!

The Gamecube version utilized advanced bump mapping and specular effects and since Nintendo are using a new kind of parallax mapping and advanced bump mapping with the Revolution (N5), Revolution games should look at least 3 times nbetter than the Gamecube version of Resident Evil 4!
