Spring/Summer for 360!!! - Feb 06, 2006 03:11
The next few months are going to bring us some more 360 games. I appologise if this takes time to load (one or two of the screens are fairly big). What are you impressions of upcoming titles?

PREY

GHOST RECON: ADVANCED WARFIGHTER

BURNOUT REVENGE

THE ELDER SCROLLS: OBLIVION

FIGHT NIGHT ROUND 3 (is this out in the US yet?)

N3

DEAD RISING

There are more like Top Spin 2, Timeshift, Battlefield 2, Saints Row, Gears of war, Crackdown etc, but i didn' t want to post screens of those on the 1st post. Perhaps others will find hi-res screens of uncoming games...

I' m happy many of those titles will appear on PC as well.
Prey looks so damn cool.
A question, why does 360 games cost so much? Is it development costs that are rising?
If so then I have to ask another question: Why are the prices for PC games at normal level even though the graphics are at the same level as console games meaning the development costs should be about the same?

Blue dragon is my most wanted game this year, and btw halo3 and wolfenstein will probably come to the 360.
But BD is my most wanted game by far...

You mean Ghost Recon, Prey and Oblivion?

That' s not quite " many" , i only chose the ones i' m most looking forward to...

I know what you' re saying about the game prices, but even PC titles have seen an increase in cost in the UK. Quake 4 was released at £39.99 and so was Need For Speed Most Wanted. I expect Prey, Oblivion and probably Ghost Recon to follow suit too..

They put it down to development costs but i' m not complaining. I' ve paid £90 for a N64 title before now and i think £45.99-49.99 is reasonable, some may thing saying that is stupid but since i import most of my stuff i only usually pay £39.99 anyway (just get them from play.com, almost every 360 game is £39.99 delivered).

EDIT: Nice Quezcatol, Blue Dragon looks great. BUT, Halo 3 is DEFINATELY coming to 360 since it' s a game by MICROSOFT (they own Bungie remember) and Wolfenstein has already been confirmed for 360 anyway, it was announced at E3.

But ghost recon should be played over live, with a big screen tv,and with players who all wear headset and microphone which all do over xbl,and not over pc.
For me ghost recon is a console game primarly.
The action is slower but more realistic, and fits a big screen tv more, and a controller that rumbles :)

" EDIT" i should have wrote to xbox360 this year,i heard some rumors that halo3 might be delayed with purpose to 2007,to make the movie sell more.
And that wolfenstein will come with new engine early 2007 or late 2006.

Ok. I hope we' ll see some really cheap " best sellers" for the 360 soon.
Is Burnout Revenge 360 exclusive? Fight night will be available for PSP and PS3. Isn' t Gears of War a PC game to? Top Spin will probably be out for several consoles. Battlefield 2 is already out on PC.
Anyway all these titles for the 360 makes me wanna buy one. But not yet. I want a couple of more titles and preferably a price drop. When do you think the first 360 price drop will happen?

Actually Ghost Recon is originally a pc title, and i think it worked better on the pc, FPS multplayer is more fun on the PC, maybe i just havent gotten used to FPS multiplayer on console

That shot of dead rising in the supermarket looks awesome, heh.

I assumed 360 games were expensive to make up for the subsidised console. So basically you' re paying the actual cost of the console back over time. Which is why the same game on PC is cheaper (see oblivion for example). I tend to get my console games from play.com for £40 too, and PC games there are usually £18-25 new which is the price games should be imo.

Definitely getting prey and oblivion, but if either runs well on my PC, I' m getting it for that.

I' d like to see a keyboard and mouse setup for the 360 so that the FPS games will play as good as on a PC:

Ninety Nine Nights (N3) is gonna be huge.

http://www.n3-game.jp/n3_flash.aspx

Multiple main characters, different story paths depending on which character you choose, at least 5000 enemies on screen at the same time

It' s a fantasy/strategy/action rpg with realtime fighting.

I' d recommend going to the site at the top and checking it out. There' s a 2:38min trailer on there in HD.

From what I' ve seen and read (hands on reports) Ninety Nine Nights is going to be Huge indeed ...huge dissapointment - at least in graphics department.

No games are better played on PC - because playing on a huge bad ass HD tv sitting on your couch is so much better.

You say the precision of mouse is better? So what -none of your opponents on LIVE have that precision and you all play on console controllers relaxed and comfy.

That would make sens if you had players of PC version VS X360 gamers.

I guess PC gamers wil never get what consoles are all about and vice versa.

Anyway - wait till you play the Revolution (definitely not N5) controller :)

Actually the hi-res footage from TGS looked REALLY good. Most of the screenshots that are floating about, and some of the early video footage looks bad but since it was from an early build thats understandable.

Isn' t Gears of War a PC game to?

MS said that it gave the okay to go onto PC but Epic says they are currently not working on a PC version of the game and don' t have plans to.

Probably because they work on unreal 2007 for ps3.
But anyway,to chemical, yes i know ghost recon first came to pc,i bought it,and i hated it.
However i re bought it for xbox seeing how i needed a xbox live title, and it was just so damn fun,the slower pace with a handcontroll, tyhat doesnt make people jumping 180 degree anmd shooting hs in 1 sec is finally gone, and most cheating,Thank god :)

I played most Rainbox 6 on the PC, and worried that they will destroy the MP in it to please console gamers. I heard that the new Lockdown is a total mess in all versions on the game!

What' s so great about N3? It looks kind of boring. 5000 characters on screen sounds impressive but that doesn' t make a game you know.
I think nothing (well maybe the Rev-controller) is better for FPS games than keyboard and mouse. Not just for the sake of precision but it also feels much better. The games act more real with a mouse. But all other types of games are better played with a controller.
Except racing games that are much more fun to play with a wheel. And light-gun games with lightguns. Or Bongo drums for Donkey Konga. Or that thing you stand on when you play DDR. Or a mic for karaoke games. Or a... you get the idea.

There arn' t gonna be 5000 at on screen.
The dev said at the moment they can show 1000 but know its very possible and gonna make it " 2000" however if some maps will have up to 5000 enemies thats another story.

I look forward to the game...but it look kind of soul less sometimes i admit, but i want it :)

I dont really like the fakt that Prey have the same visual style as Doom 3 and Quake 4, both of those games were really bad and boring, hopefully it wont play in the same pace as Q4 and D3.

The rest of the games looks really cool and im especially looking forward to Blue Dragon (hopefully it will be out this year, anyone have any info on that?).

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighters seems like a great game, seems to have a great online feature.

I dont really care about Halo 3, Halo 2 wasn´t all that good. Hopefully the 3rd will be more like the first halo and concentrate more on the Singleplayer.

I would like to add Sonic The Hedgehog, it`s really great that it will be heading for the Xbox 360 and im looking forward to play it.

Oh i wonder why it has the same visual style as Doom 3 and Quake 4, ...perhaps it' s got something to do with the fact that it uses tHE SAME F*CKING ENGINE!!!

Why are so many people so F*CKING retarded?!

Quake 4 was incredibly flawed but Doom 3 was great. Obviously it' s a matter of opinion but the only think that most people didn' t like about it was the spawning enemies. It was simply a showcase for the engine and did that job well.

As for Sonic, ...the past couple of Sonic games for console (Rush on DS was fantastic) so i don' t have high hopes!

N3 may have 1 000 000 000 enemies in the training mission - it' s still not going to be a technical wonder.Just look at those gameplay movies in HD - so lame.

I hope it turns out those movies were from early version of the game - that guy made lumines and meteos and those titles are gameplay heaven :)

Wow someone' s getting nasty hehe.

Did you know that Half-life was made on Quake engine? - it doesn' t look like it that' s for sure.

I Agree Doom 3 (Xbox version ) was a great moody game.

Half Life is obviously running on a highly modified Quake engine. I see what you' re saying but there are tell tale signs if you know what you' re loking for. Now, when the Blue-Shift expansion came out with the high-definition update, that made it look more different.

The Quake engine itself has been hugely successful. Quake 2 used a modified Quake engine and Quake used and even more modified version (no sh*t you say!), but tons of separate games (from id Software) used the Quake engine in some form.

The thing about the Doom 3 engine is that the bump-mapping, specular and texture filters look pretty much the same no matter how much you modify it. Quake 4 and Prey don' t use a hugely different engine to Doom 3, it hasn' t been changed as much as maybe it should have. Quake 4 was terrible, i expected more from Raven Software but i seems that they still make sub-standard games, ...Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy/Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Soldier of Fortune/2 being other acamples of thir half-assed work.

Will Enemy Territory: Quake Wars be any good?! Who knows, but i expect it to be UT2007' s biggest rival. I liked Doom 3 but id Software still need to up their game (no pun intended).

Yeah the thing is you can modify any engine you have - just look at Mario KArt DS running on a modified Half-life 2 engine.

:)

I really don' t get it -how could they waste Quake franchise like that - Q1 was just unbelievable - the graphics design and all the weapons and everything , and then Q2 - WTF was that?

Then Q3 became the unrivaled online game (untill the competition grew up) and Q4 sucks like they say ....

WHY GOD DAMN IT?
:)

Maybe it' s because they gave that franchise to some fuckin loosers I don' t know - it' s such waste.

God people can certainly ' Hype' things up..

A ' few' of them games look quite good..

Im not bothered about any console FPS (apart from forth coming Revolution ones ).. a waiste of my time console FPS are..

Dead Rising and NN looks good tho not sure they will last very long...

Might hang on to my 360 for abit until the Revolution is released and do a trade in for one.. So far 360 has unimpressed me to say the least.. If VF5 (DOA4 is not what i consider a proper fighting game imo) is released on 360 i' ll keep it, if not it' ll be traded in for a Revolution.

Man, that' s so YODA!

Dude' s a legend!

I think Dead Rising will be huge. It looks gorgeous and the simple premise won' t hinder the gameplay. I only hope it' s long enough, i don' t want it to be another really short 6-8 hr game!

Do what you like with your 360. You subscribe to Xbox Live btw? Just thought i could show you the complaxities and depth of DoA4 and it' s re-configured fighting mechanics...

Burnout Revenge

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter

I love the improvement of Tomb Raider on 360 - if they make every game that way , then NEXT GEN is not obsolete anymore for me :)

(in 360 version Lara has a lot of polys and 24MB of textures)

Those chicks in Fight Night look terrible :) , but that' s EA so it' s understandable.

see the video interview on ign - they say a lot of important things you' d like to hear

still seeing footage of lara fighting guys a lot on some levels makes me wonder is it really back to it' s roots - then again those moments could be a little distraction from the tomb Raiding and mabe it' s fun.

I have huge expectations.

meh, i still have scarred relationships with lara. i remember tomb raider III running on my laggy computer, and then thinkin it would be better, getting it on ps1. those dang cliff hanging moves drove me nuts! and as for titles that excite me, Ghost Recon: AW definatly catches my eye, along with gears of war. and N3 now that i think about it, bears a striking resemblance to Mystic Heroes by Koei.

Of those the only one that i wanted to play is tomb raider, looking forward to the return to roots idea... and hey it' s crystal dynamics, the legacy of kain guys.

N3... yeah but i dont think it looks impressive... though it' s the only other game on the console i wouldn' t mind playing...

I guess right now im looking for something more along the lines of a fully realised fahrenheit/indigo prophecy game,,, So currently Alan Wake is the only next gen game i' m really looking forward to.

Just go and play Shenmue :)

Prey looks really nice (but it' s clearly not pushing X360 to more than 50% of its power or less)
