Akira - Feb 26, 2003 13:48
Im know this has been out for ages, but I just recently bought it. And it' s the most stunning thing I' ve ever seen. Anybody else seen it?
I especially like the way the characters have been animated. For one of the first animes, it' s still one of the best!
And Kaneda is my hero!

What' s your opinion on Akira?

Best anime ever. I absolutely love this movie. It' s got the most stunning animations I' ve ever seen like when that fuck up in blue starts trippin and the walls are crumblin all around...just pure excellence. Good story too.

Now ya talking! Most of the animations are pure art. The bike chases, the tripping from Tetsuo, the powers of those weird kids. Incredibly amazing!
I don' t think I ever wanted to see a movie again and again.

So have you seen any other good animes? I saw Ghost in the Shell and thought it was pretty good, but not on the same level as Akira.

The Akira dvd is good but I' m dissapointed they changes the English dub from the video version.
Ninja Scroll is my fav though oh and Princess Mononoke.

I don' t know about the original English dub, but I think the English voices are REALLY good on the dvd. They fit with the characters and aren' t crappy like most.
But I rather listen to the Japanese version anyway.

I wouldnt say its the best, but Akira is brilliant. I have to say that the subbed or original dubbed version is alot better then the dubbed DVD version, if only I could find somewhere to get my hands on it!

Edit: Come to think of it, do any oy you know any online-shops t hat sell the original?
