I' d go and get it If I where you - anyone I gave it to was amazed. I love it - and agree - There' s no more fulfilling gaming experience than Shenmue . And no game could ever surpass shenmue : yokosuka ...and then I played Shenmue 2 :) Those are not games - those " products" save lives. Shenmue cures cancer I tell you !! AIDS? that' s silly - apply any QTE 2 times a day for a week and that' s it.

What i like about shenmue apart from the graphics is the seriousness and " real" ness of the story. It almost feels like a socio-political game. It' s a statement. It' s a statement about Chinese/Japanese relations, it' s a statement about different martial arts styles, it' s a statement about people who leave their homeland to find greener pastures or to join loved ones in Amereeka/Canada (we all know who i' m talking about, hehe). I mean it feels like a true to life story, spiced up into a game. hehe. It' s so good that it kinda feels sad even, that if (AND WHEN) Shenmue 3 comes out, that it will be the last in the series. No spinoff anyone? The story of Ryo' s and Nozomi' s little boy (or girl)? (yes, i still like the Ryo/Nozomi pair-up more than the Ryo/ShenHua (Sha Hua? forgot the name).

shenmue is a masterpiece the world will ever see again untill shenmue3 is out...
Even if you break 2 legs from a crab it still runs! What you gotta do is find its weak spot and do massive damage at it.

No way man! Ryo Isn' t going to pick Nozomi she is soo boring... I bet somehow Joy returns in S3 and saves ryo somehow.. hehe joy... she is so beautiful... (Nozomi is cute too though)
And thus the saga...begins...

Another thing i like about Shenmue is the fact that we can relate to it in a different way from other RPG' s. While other RPG' s transport us to another world filled with wonder, Shenmue relates to us because, well, it' s more of a " it could happen to you" type thing. And while the ending of Shenmue 2 hinted at it bordering on the supernatural (at least i think), both games still did a good job of literally being an intellectual property fit for an indie movie, but becoming a game instead.

It surprises me that no company have tried to make a game similar to Shenmue. Or has it been done? Sure, that Ryu Ga Gotoku game seems similar but that' s from the same company. Maybe it has something to do with the budget...

Ryu ga Gotoku is about as similar to Shenmue as Neo Contra is

Because they' re on crack??? My half-assed theory is, if the game was NOT developed by Sega then there would be no comparisons made to Shenmue.. I could be wrong, which I always am, but that' s just my theory
