xbox 360 VGA adapter

the vga adapter pwns 1337 ninja style b cha cho. You pick from a variety of resolutions. There are about 8 choices ranging from 640x480 to 1280x1024. With widescreen and 4:3 resolutions. Then you tell it if your monitor is widescreen or 4:3 ratio. I set mine at 1280x1024 and normal 4:3 ratio. Every game handles your resolution in its own way. PDZ has black bars on the top and bottom like when you watch a widescreen movie. PGR3 distorts and pushes the sides in to fill up the whole screen. Kind of a wierd thing to do but I don' t mind. COD2 doesn' t distort or anything and plays the same as a 4:3 TV. Everything looks awesome at such high resolutions. If you mostly only play with one person on a screen I recomend it. Well worth it looks a million times better than standard TV. If you often play with 4 people on one screen it is kind of hard to huddle four people around one monitor though.

Note: 1280x1024 is not a 4:3 resolution. You may find more luck choosing 1280x960.

And it' s good to hear that you have a lot of options. I was wondering about that, and now I' ll be that much more happy to get a 360 when important games come out for it.

Ah yeah, I know its not a 4:3 but when you pick a resolution you pick if you have a 4:3 ratio or widescreen. So it ends up being 4:3 the pixels just aren' t square. I use 1280x960 as my PC desktop resolution but they don' t have that for an option on the 360. It really isn' t a problem though since pretty much all CRTs support 1280x1024 and CRTs can be adjusted to display just about anything properly. I suppose the other resolutions are nice for LCD users. Here are the resolutions you can use: 640x480 1024x768 1280x720 1280x768 1280x1024 1360x768

Ah, okay. Yeah, my CRT supports all those and then some, up to 1920x1440. Can' t see a damn bit of text at that res, but it' s sure pretty for games.
