I' m currently debating whether to go VGA with my 360. My projector has the input, and I DO have a 15ft VGA cable, but;
a) I' d need a male to male adapter to run the cable from the proprietary 360 cable to the 15 footer...
b) That' d be ONE MORE CABLE running to my projector!
That second point one would be very disappointing. You see, initially I bought my Yamaha receiver with the intent of running ONE cable to my projector; just HDMI. Then I discovered (once I got the damn thing) that the upconversion that it touts so much only goes from composite or s-video to component, not to HDMI! Since my Xbox, PS2 and 360 all have component outputs that meant that I had to run a second cable (realize that this is a projector which sits a nice distance from the components). I feel like VGA might not give me the graphical advantage enough to run ANOTHER damn cable!
Well, that' s my story. Truth be told, I' ll probably try it eventually.
Edit: Well, I just learned that the Xbox 360 VGA adapter comes with a male AND female plug, so an adapter won' t be necessary! Yay! Also, my projector' s max resolution is 1280x768 (as opposed to 1280x720 or 720p). This is pretty cool, I guess. A little bit more resolution in VGA! Now I just have to scrape up some money for a 360 VGA adapter!
