Since when do people listen to critics? The only way we can say Doom is a crap movie is if we go see it for ourselves.

thing is this isnt a critic. Its a user review. I usually ignore critic reivews and read user reviews like those in Yahoo!Movies.

There could be one person who thinks a movie is a crap while another person could say that it was an exellent movie.Thats why I dont judge movies till I see them usually.

Well obviously if it has interest in you of course you' d see it, but if several thousand user reviews say a movie is horrid at least you' d know to lower your expectations a bit. This was just one review so Im not taking it as my own view since I may plan on seeing it as well.

The preview looked awesome...but we all know that previews are not a good indicator as to how good (or bad) a movie is. It' s on my to-do list...

I saw it and... it was fairly bad. The script/acting/dialogue was pretty piss poor. The plot was crap along with the subplots. The pacing was pretty terrible aswell. It wasn' t all bad though. The action was pretty good and I was very impressed with the art direction(mainly because it was directly from iD). The special effects and CG were entertaining and surprisingly well done. There were a few cheesy parts like when a dude jumped 10 feet in the air with a pipe twice his own body wieght and slapped a hellknight silly with it. My recomendation is to only see it if you really have the urge to check it out. Btw, the first person segment wasn' t bad. I luaghed at a lot of it though.

Not the deepest movie out there, but I liked it. I think it captured the feel of " Doom" and that is what mattered most. Doom purist might not like the movie because it does stray heavily from the original game plot.
