Ninety-Nine Nights only for Japan? - Sep 17, 2005 05:47
" So, in spite of the favorable impression made by the game, you’re probably wondering why we’re just “mostly pleased” by the game. You can attribute that to the only real downer of our demo: Ninety-Nine Nights has only been announced for a Japanese release, which means that, at the present time, US players hoping for some hi res hack and slash action are out of luck for the time being. We expect there’s a pretty good chance the game will find its way over to the US but there’s no guarantees at the moment. Ninety-Nine Nights is currently slated to ship this fall in Japan for the Xbox 360."

I just read it from gamespot...

I thought it was one of the coolest game over at TGS,and now i can assume it will never ever come to europe...
I mean if its not sure to even come to USA,then we here are totally screwed.
Damn,this really destroyed my day

More than likely the game just needs a U.S. game publisher to pick it up and you' ll see here no doubt. (Same goes for Europe). The news doesn' t affect me though since ' I be gettin' an import unit anyway :).

Yeah. I think it is a good game. Aren' t the japanese a little bit egoistic making ganes fore themselves? If I were them, I would sell the sh*t anywhere... I don' t see the problem.

Tetsuya Mizuguchi' s Q Entertainment isn' t a publishing arm and isn' t exactly setup for publishing games, especially outside of Japan.. Their previous handheld games, Lumines and Meteos, both were published by other companies in all three territories. Bandai published Lumines and Meteos in Japan whereas UBISoft published Luminess in the U.S. and Europe, while Nintendo published Meteos in the U.S. and Europe.. So if Ninety-Nine Nights doesn' t have a U.S. or European release date yet, more than likely the reason is because the game hasn' t been picked up yet by publishers in those regions.. A part of me would like to see Ubisoft pick it up and publish it in the U.S. and Europe. The game kind of seems more their style in a way. Having the Sega logo on the game in the U.S. would be nice but I do NOT trust their marketing department to properly advertise the game so I think Ubisoft should get it.

This is one of the launch games in Japan. When will we see it in USA and Europe?

M: We haven' t decided yet, but it will be released there.

L: We want to release it there as soon as we finish it. But it' s all up to Microsoft.

M: Would you want us to change the characters or the story for the launch in America?
No, keep it the same!
M: (Laughter) OK, OK! We won' t change it!

And please give us the option to choose between Japanese and English dialogs!

M: Sure, sure!

L: Maybe we will have Japanese dialogs with English subtitles.
In this version, the characters speak in Japanese. The lips are synched. But when we put English sound, the lips will move according to the English language. The engine basically analyses the sounds.

Might come afterall but,im now afraid it only reach USA.
