Exorcist: The Beginning Gets Completely Reshot

Original Schrader version gets thrown out... Renny Harlin has completely reshot Exorcist: The Beginning since taking over the director' s chair 13 weeks ago. The original version of the film, directed by Paul Schrader, has been thrown out. No material from Schrader' s version will be used in the final issue of the movie. Also, all the scenes involving Clara Bellar, Gabriel Mann and pop star Billy Crawford have been cut. Harlin brought in new actors as well as a new writer (Alexi Hawley). Basically, Warner Bros. ended up making two versions of the movie, causing their budget to soar 66% from $25 million to $75 million, and one film will never see the light of day. Schrader left the film after creative differences. He wanted the movie to be more of a psychological film while Warner Bros. wanted more gore and blood. http://www.411mania.com/movies/news/article.php?news_id=4925 I see nothing good coming from this.

Wow. That is amusing. I didn' t know about the movie before this, nor do I particularly care about the movie now. But the whole thing reminds me a bit of Monty Python... :-) " Monty Python" We apologise for the fault in the subtitles. Those responsible have been sacked. ... We apologise again for the fault in the subtitles. Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked have been sacked. ... The directors of the firm hired to continue the credits after the other people had been sacked, wish it to be known that they have just been sacked. The credits have been completed in an entirely different style at great expense and at the last minute. EDIT: Um... why is that the quote tag doesn' t seem to work?
