My favorite game story is easy, lol.. Your planet is in danger. Invading alien forces have wiped out its entire combat fleet, you are (insert planet' s name) last hope for survival. Pilot the (insert lone starfighter' s name) against the alien armada. Failure is not an option. You are the last hope. Good luck. It basically applies to EVERY 2D Shooter ever created, lol.

That supposed to be a normal story. I think a good game needs a well developed story.

Crap gameplay + Awesome story still equals Crap game. Fantastic Gameplay + Awful story = Fantastic game

I must go with the story of the Shenmue series. KOTOR has some deep characters though.

Grim Fandango by Lucas Arts...console-wise...ummm....Shadowrun....sega version was better than the snes. I liked the idea of cybenectic mercenaries.

Grim Fandango, Silent Hill 2, Final Fantasy 7. I' d still enjoy these stories if they were movies or books.

A tough question as I enjoy many stories in RPGS such as Shadow Hearts: Covenant, the Final Fantasy series, Jade Empire and Grandia. Outside the RPG genre, I think the Metal Gear games always have clever storylines and are pretty much my favourite non RPG plots. More recently, I also enjoyed God of War' s story, Kratos is a well thought up character and very different to your average cliched hero, which is nice.

Shenmue, because of the deepness and little things in it. Really if you look at the overall story its pretty common. But I guess it has some pretty big twists and stuff at the end of the 2nd game, and there could be some pretty crazy stuff at the end, if it ever ends. I thought it was just all normal world stuff, but then they bring in this magic type stuff, or did they?

Final Fantasy VII and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Thank you...you have been added to the cool list. On the other note, the original Metal Gear Solid was a great story.

Checkers had by far the most impressive story line. Remember that plot-twist where the red gets kinged?? Oh my God, that was so emotional.
