Lol, just noticed this topic. Actually, the exact wording of the original law encompassed all kinds of electronic games, even those that were played at home! Of course, it was never enforced to this extent as government officials hastened to declare the next day that gaming at home was exempt from the law. However, those were pretty hectic days over here, let me tell you. The police raided Internet cafes, coin-op arcades, every form of public gaming closed down for a while. After a year or so, the law was amended beyond all recognition, banning just electronic gambling (in public places). Still, the arcade scene over here was all but destroyed. LAN spots and Internet cafes continue to thrive, but arcades are out of the picture. And to think that the whole mess started because some yokel managed to lose all his money playing a slot machine, prompting a well-known TV journalist to make a big show out of it. The power of television is scary nowadays...

The Greek politicians/government should reflect upon this as a ' continued' sign that they will never rule the world again (like they did ages ago)... Maybe someone should tell them that the God known as Videus Gameus is VERY unhappy with them and will rain game cartridges and CD' s on them until the entire ban is lifted.
Videogaming is the contemporary interactive pasttime.

This is crazy... I guess they don' t mind losing out on the 11 billion that video games bring in.
