no way action has explosions and gun fire with stuff just toppling over. Action gives such an adrenakin rush. when a comedy isnt funny its NOTHING. Even bad action movies have action to fall back on.

What about Jackie Chan or Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle, Shaolin Soccer) movies? Or the various animes such as Dead Leaves and FLCL? (all anime haters watch dead leaves while drunk and/or high and you find that anime is actually fuckn cool ps i am not condoning or supporting alcohol and drugs shhhhh). Or hell what about on adult swim that show Venture Brothers? And for fook sake lets not forget my newest faved movie and a top contender for 2005 Mr and Mrs Smith. All the above combine action and comedy quite well...so im goign with the mix.

If you can get the best of both worlds in a movie is there even a reason to pick one over the other? I' ll take a movie that features the best of ALL worlds.. Imagine a portion of RUSH HOUR 3 being a musical, LOL.. (Cut to scene) Jacky Chan and Chris Tucker are involved in a high speed chase, they' ve caught up to the goons at the docks and are kicking butt and making the audience laugh with their usual action-comedy antics,,, and then all of a sudden they bust out into a song and dance routine, hehe..

Heh, Mass X....Venture Bros rock. I have every episode. I still think the Race Bannon with the Fantastic Four wannabes was the best. As for comedy and action, nobody does it better than Jackie Chan.

Wait wait wait in Ruch Hour 2 there was that kareoke scene! And a big hell yeah for Venture Brothers! I hope they get around to making more episodes, but apparently that damn annoyance of a show Tom Goes to the Mayor has somtign to do with why they havent made more.

terry, I never knew you enjoyed musical theatre. I enjoy both genres, and a mix is always pleasant. I cannot stand an action/romance mix though..... ugh the romance is always so awful.

Ditto Sharon' s thoughts... Just give me either Rush Hour movie, any of the Beverly Hills Cop movies, or all of the Lethal Weapon movies and I will be a happy camper!!!

If I have to see any movie with Chris Tucker in it again, I' ll jump off a bridge. As for action or comedy, I don' t know, there' s a time for both. I' ll take epic stories set either in a fantas world, or the past any time though.

For me give me a sci-fi fantasy universe with a beautiful story, great music, plenty of action, adventure, humor, suspense, thrills, spills, and futuristic automobiles.... Sprinkling in a few horror elements could be cool to.

Action and Comedy together make the best movie. Would Beverly Hills Cop have been even half as good if it was just straight up action.

The Eddie Murphy of old wouldn' t have allowed for it to remain just action ;) Current Murphy would but not the 80s Murphy :)

I heard somewhere that fatherhood was what pretty much killed his career. He hasn' t been the same Eddie since.
